Mahindra Scorpio N Z8 Select Z8 And Z8 L Updated With New Features

Mahindra Scorpio-N Z8 Select, Z8, and Z8 L Updated with New Features

Mahindra Scorpio’s legacy is undoubtedly unmatched up to date but Scorpio N has been drastically successful in keeping pace with the Original. The car has been doing incredibly well in the current automotive market. Reportedly, Scorpio N isn’t providing the customers with features that do justice to its showroom prices. Following this chaos, It looks like Mahindra has silently updated the higher variants of the Scorpio N and is now offering more features than before.

New Features Added

One of the notable new features in the Scorpio-N is the introduction of a wireless phone charging pad with a cooling function. This feature is now available in the Z8 Select, Z8, and Z8 L variants. Wireless charging pads are convenient, but they often cause phones to heat up. The cooling function in Mahindra's pad helps mitigate this issue, ensuring that phones remain at a safe temperature while charging.

Additionally, the Z8 and Z8 L top-end variants now come with ventilated seats. These seats are especially useful during the hot Indian summers, providing extra comfort by cooling the seats. Another update includes frameless auto-dimming interior rearview mirrors (IRVMs), which help reduce glare from headlights behind the vehicle, enhancing driving comfort and safety.

Design Enhancements

Mahindra has also made a cosmetic upgrade to the Scorpio-N by giving the center console a gloss-black finish. This enhances the interior's look, making it feel more premium and modern. Such design tweaks, combined with the new features, aim to keep the Scorpio-N competitive and appealing to potential buyers.

Pricing and Market Position

There has been no official announcement from Mahindra regarding any price changes due to these updates. However, it is expected that the variants receiving these new features will see a price increase of about Rs 17,000 to Rs 20,000. This adjustment reflects the added value these new features bring to the vehicle.

Background on Mahindra Scorpio N

The Mahindra Scorpio N was officially launched in 2022 as the successor to the popular Scorpio. The original Scorpio, now renamed the Scorpio Classic, continues to be available as a more affordable and rugged option. The Scorpio-N, on the other hand, is designed to offer a more modern and premium experience. It features black and brown dual-tone interiors, automatic climate control, an electric sunroof, a large touchscreen infotainment system, and a premium sound system from Sony.

Engine Options and Variants

The Scorpio-N is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version features a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 200 horsepower and 370 Nm of peak torque. Buyers can choose between manual and automatic transmissions for the petrol variant.

The diesel variant is powered by a 2.2-liter mHawk turbo engine, which delivers 130 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque in the lower variants, and 172 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque in the higher variants. Like the petrol version, the diesel variant is also available with both manual and automatic transmissions. Additionally, the 4×4 feature is available with select diesel variants, offering enhanced off-road capability.

Availability and Export

The Mahindra Scorpio N is not only popular in India but is also exported to markets like Australia and South Africa. This highlights its global appeal and the confidence Mahindra has in this SUV. The Scorpio-N’s price ranges from Rs 13.85 lakh to Rs 24.54 lakh (ex-showroom), catering to a broad segment of the market.

To sum up, The updates to the Mahindra Scorpio-N, particularly in the higher-end Z8 Select, Z8, and Z8 L variants, add significant value to an already popular SUV. The addition of wireless charging with a cooling function, ventilated seats, and frameless auto-dimming IRVMs enhances both comfort and convenience. These updates ensure that the Scorpio-N remains competitive in its segment, offering features that appeal to modern SUV buyers. As Mahindra continues to innovate and respond to customer needs, the Scorpio-N’s popularity is likely to grow, solidifying its place in the market as a premium and versatile SUV choice.
