Iconic Tata Sierra EV Set for Official Global Debut

Tata Motors is preparing to unveil the highly anticipated Sierra EV on June 30. Reviving one of India's most iconic SUV nameplates, the electric SUV is expected to combine heritage-inspired styling with modern EV technology, premium features, multiple battery options and a claimed range of up to 550 km, strengthening Tata's presence in the premium electric SUV segment.

  • Tata Motors is set to unveil the Sierra EV on June 30, 2026, bringing back one of India's most iconic SUV nameplates in an all-electric avatar.

  • The electric SUV is expected to offer up to 550 km of claimed range, AWD capability and a feature-rich cabin based on Tata's advanced acti.ev platform.

Tata Motors is preparing to reveal the production-spec Sierra EV on June 30, marking the return of the legendary Sierra nameplate in a modern electric form. The upcoming SUV will strengthen Tata's growing EV portfolio and is expected to be positioned between the Curvv EV and the Harrier EV.

The Sierra EV is one of the most anticipated electric vehicle launches in India, combining the nostalgic appeal of the original Sierra with Tata's latest electric vehicle technology and premium SUV positioning.

Tata Sierra battery, range and performance

The Sierra EV is likely to be built on Tata Motors' advanced acti.ev architecture, which already underpins several newer EVs in the brand's lineup. Reports suggest the SUV could be offered multiple battery pack options and both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations.

Tata Sierra EV design details

The Tata Sierra EV is expected to retain many of the styling cues showcased on the concept model while incorporating production-ready elements. One of its most distinctive features will be the large wraparound rear quarter glass area, a modern interpretation of the original Sierra's iconic design from the 1990s.

The SUV is also expected to feature connected LED lighting elements, a bold front fascia, flush-fitting door handles, and upright proportions that emphasise its rugged SUV character. The overall design aims to blend nostalgia with contemporary styling, helping the Sierra EV stand out in the growing electric SUV segment.

Tata Sierra EV feature highlights

The Tata Sierra EV is expected to feature a premium, technology-focused cabin with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The SUV is also likely to offer connected car technology, wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a panoramic sunroof, enhancing both convenience and comfort for occupants.

In addition, the Sierra EV could come equipped with ventilated front seats, multiple drive modes, a Level 2 ADAS suite, and several advanced safety features. Combined with its spacious interior and modern design, these features are expected to make the Sierra EV one of Tata Motors' most technologically advanced electric SUVs.

Expected price and rivals

The Tata Sierra EV is expected to be priced between ₹18 lakh and ₹25 lakh. Once launched, it will compete with electric SUVs such as the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Maruti eVitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser EV.

With its combination of heritage-inspired design, modern technology, and long-range capability, the Sierra EV is expected to become one of Tata Motors' most important electric vehicle launches. The June 30 debut will reveal official specifications, features and pricing, providing a clearer picture of Tata's next step in the premium EV segment.
