Skoda Auto India has officially confirmed that bookings for the Kodiaq RS will open on June 22, 2026. The announcement marks a significant moment for the brand, as this becomes the first seven-seater Skoda in India to carry the RS badge. Arriving as a CBU import, pricing is expected to fall in the range of Rs 60 lakh to Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom).
The RS nameplate has built a devoted following in India, largely on the back of the Octavia RS. When Skoda launched the latest iteration of that car, it sold out in just 20 minutes.
Ashish Gupta, Brand Director at Skoda Auto India, noted that the RS badge carries over 50 years of global performance heritage, and that the Kodiaq RS represents the next step in that story for Indian buyers.
A 265 PS Engine That Means Business
Under the bonnet sits a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 265 PS and 400 Nm of torque, an improvement of 15 PS over the previous-generation Kodiaq RS.
Power is sent to all four wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The result is a 0-100 km/h time of 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 231 km/h. For a three-row SUV with seven seats, those are figures that genuinely impress.

RS-Specific Styling Inside and Out
An Exterior That Stands Apart
Up front, the Kodiaq RS gets an illuminated grille with a gloss black surround and RS badging, along with a more aggressive bumper design.
Matrix LED headlamps, gloss black ORVM covers, gloss black window surrounds and roof rails, red-painted brake calipers, and 20-inch black alloy wheels round out the visual changes.
The SUV is available in eight exterior colour options. At the rear, gloss black tailgate lettering and twin exhaust outlets complete the look.
A Driver-Focused Cabin
Inside, buyers can choose between two interior themes. The standard RS Suedia option features perforated suede and leatherette upholstery with integrated front sports seats and red contrast stitching.
The optional RS Suite upgrades to natural leather with ventilated front seats and the same sport seat structure. Both themes share a black headliner, stainless steel pedal covers, a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel with RS badging, and RS graphics within the infotainment interface.
Feature-Rich and Well Equipped
The Kodiaq RS comes with a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-inch digital driver's display, a Canton premium sound system, powered and heated front seats, heated rear seats, seat memory function, KESSY Advanced keyless entry with automatic locking and unlocking, ambient lighting, and wireless smartphone connectivity.
The adaptive DCC Plus suspension offers a wider adjustment range than the previous generation, and seven drive modes are available, including Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Individual, Snow and Off-Road. Progressive steering and Dynamic Sound Boost, which amplifies the engine note inside the cabin, are also part of the package.
How It Stacks Up Against Rivals
When it launches, the Kodiaq RS will occupy a unique space in the Indian market. None of its closest rivals match it on power output.
The Volkswagen Tayron R-Line produces 204 PS, while the BMW X1 M Sport, Mercedes-Benz GLA AMG Line, and Audi Q3 Technology Plus all offer five seats rather than seven. The Kodiaq RS, by contrast, pairs genuine performance with three-row practicality and all-wheel drive, a combination that currently has no direct equivalent at this price point.
