Audi Confirms Q3, A5 and Q9 Launch Roadmap for India

Audi India has outlined a fresh product offensive spanning three new models over the next year, beginning with the Q3 this festive season and culminating with the flagship Q9 SUV in 2027, all built locally in Maharashtra.

  • New Q3 arrives this festive season as the opening move in Audi's India offensive

  • Flagship Q9 SUV rounds off the roadmap with a launch expected in 2027

Audi India has set out one of its busiest product plans in recent memory, confirming that three new models will reach Indian showrooms within roughly a year of each other.

The rollout begins with the Q3 during the festive period this year, continues with the A5 in early 2027, and closes with the Q9, the brand's new flagship SUV, arriving later that year.

All three will be assembled locally at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen Group facility in Maharashtra, a move that should help keep pricing competitive against established rivals.

New Q3 Leads the Charge

The third generation Q3 is the nearest of the trio and represents a considerable step forward from its predecessor, with a sharper exterior, a more modern cabin and an updated technology suite.

The India spec car is expected to come with a 204bhp 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine, a seven speed dual clutch gearbox and Quattro all wheel drive fitted as standard.

Inside, buyers can look forward to an 11.9 inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.8 inch touchscreen, three zone climate control and a generously sized sunroof. Both the SUV and the sportier Sportback body styles could be offered, with the launch tipped for the coming months.

A5 to Replace the A4 in Early 2027

Following close behind is the A5, which steps in to replace the ageing A4 and rides on Audi's newer platform. It is a noticeably bigger and more upmarket proposition, borrowing cabin architecture from recent Audi launches, including an optional touchscreen for the front passenger that adds another layer of tech appeal.

For the Indian market, the A5 is expected to be offered with a 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine paired with an automatic gearbox in a front wheel drive layout.

Q9 to Arrive as Audi's New Flagship SUV

The most consequential launch of the three is the Q9, which will sit above the existing lineup as Audi's largest and most premium SUV.

Stretching beyond 5.3 metres, it is not simply a longer version of the Q7 but a dedicated three row model built to take on full size luxury SUVs already sold in India.

Power is expected to come from a petrol engine mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox with all wheel drive, and there is no word of a diesel variant being offered locally.

What This Means for Audi's Market Position

The scale of this rollout reflects Audi India's broader ambitions. The brand currently holds close to eight per cent of the domestic luxury car market and is aiming to more than double that to somewhere between 16 and 18 per cent within three years.

Backed by three new models, an expanding dealer network and a growing pre owned business through its certified programme, Audi appears to be building the groundwork needed to chase that target seriously over the next few years.
