Toyota South Africa has confirmed December 1, 2026 as the global reveal date for the all-new Toyota Fortuner. Toyota India has announced no India launch date or price.
Expect the new Fortuner in India in 2027. The current Fortuner is still on sale, from Rs 34.76 lakh (ex-showroom) on Toyota's online store as of today i.e November 4, 2026.
The all-new Fortuner is described as Toyota's next generation of the SUV, and is separate from the 2026 Fortuner Leader Edition, which Toyota Kirloskar Motor introduced on October 9, 2026 as a special edition of the current model.
It is expected to stay body-on-frame, sharing updated underpinnings with the Hilux. Test mules have been spotted in India, and reports point to a more upright stance, a larger grille, slimmer LED headlights and a light bar across the tailgate. Squared arches, thick cladding and a panoramic sunroof also feature in that coverage.
What Toyota India has not said about the new Fortuner
Price and bookings: Toyota India has announced no price, bookings, booking amount or waiting period for the new Fortuner.
Variants and powertrain: No variant lineup, engine, gearbox, hybrid or four-wheel-drive details have been announced for India.
Features and safety: Dimensions, seating, features and driver-assistance equipment are unannounced, and no Bharat NCAP (India's crash-test programme) result has been published.
The Fortuner price to measure against today
The only confirmed anchor for an estimate of price is what the Fortuner costs now. The Leader Edition is a special edition of the current model, sold only as a 4x2 manual (MT) or 4x2 automatic (AT), where 4x2 means two-wheel drive.
Bookings opened on October 12, 2026, so Toyota is still selling the current car. The automatic costs Rs 2.21 lakh more than the manual.
| Model | Version | Price (Rs lakh, ex-showroom) | Date listed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Current Fortuner | Starting price | 34.76 | November 4, 2026 |
| Fortuner Leader Edition | 4x2 MT | 36.51 | October 9, 2026 |
| Fortuner Leader Edition | 4x2 AT | 38.72 | October 9, 2026 |
Note: All three rows are the current Fortuner, not the new generation.
Thus, the estimates for the all-new Fortuner start at about Rs 38 Lakh (ex-showroom).
What it means for buyers
A buyer who needs a Fortuner now has confirmed choices: the current range from Rs 34.76 lakh, or the Leader Edition at Rs 36.51 lakh (manual) and Rs 38.72 lakh (automatic).
A buyer willing to wait can watch December 1, 2026, but a global reveal does not set an Indian price. Toyota has not said whether the current model will be discontinued.
