Mahindra has renamed the BE 6 as the BE 6 Sporteq and updated its variant list.
The SUV gets a new dashboard, a bigger battery choice and a cheaper way to buy it.
Mahindra has launched the BE 6 Sporteq, which is simply the updated version of its popular electric SUV, the BE 6. If you buy it outright, prices start at Rs 19.45 lakh and go up to Rs 26.95 lakh, ex showroom.
Along with the new name, the SUV gets a new battery size, a smarter looking cabin and a monthly payment option that brings the starting price down a lot. Deliveries begin on August 26, 2026. The older BE 6 Formula E Edition will keep selling alongside it.

There is now a cheaper way to get behind the wheel too. Mahindra calls it Battery as a Service, and it is only offered on the 59kWh ONE and TWO variants.
Instead of paying for the battery upfront, you pay Rs 3.75 for every kilometre you drive. This works out assuming you drive about 60km a day over eight years. Keep in mind that these prices do not include road tax, insurance or other government charges.
What Has Changed Outside
The BE 6 Sporteq looks almost the same as before, so you will not spot many differences at first glance. The clearest change is a new Sporteq badge on the body. The new Launch Edition stands out a bit more with its own Graphite Storm paint colour.
Depending on which variant you pick, you still get 19 inch alloy wheels, a glass roof that runs the length of the car, flush door handles that sit level with the body, and LED lights with a tail lamp that can show custom text.
What Has Changed Inside
The real upgrade is inside the cabin. Higher variants now come with three 12.3 inch screens sitting side by side, similar to what you get in Mahindra's bigger electric SUVs. The dashboard has also been redesigned to look neater, and it frees up more space for storage while making the wireless charger and USB ports easier to reach.
The Launch Edition gets its own tan coloured interior, while the Formula E Edition keeps the older two screen layout. There are also six new tech features. One of them recognises the driver and loads their saved settings automatically.
Another brings Google's Gemini voice assistant into the car. You can also flash custom messages on the tail lamp, and pick from fun driving modes like Drift Mode and Acceleration Boost. A new safety feature called Revive SOS can give you just enough charge to travel 13km to the nearest charging point if your battery ever runs completely flat.
Battery Options And Charging Speed
You can choose from three battery sizes, 59kWh, 70kWh and 79kWh, which give 231hp, 245hp and 286hp respectively. All three send 380Nm to the rear wheels only.
On a full charge, Mahindra claims a range of 548km for the smallest battery, 651km for the middle one, and 683km for the largest. Fast charging speeds also go up with battery size, topping out at 140kW, 160kW and 180kW for each pack in that order.
