The Scorpio N facelift is expected to arrive in Q3 or Q4 of 2026, bringing a bigger infotainment screen, panoramic sunroof, and refreshed front styling.
Interior upgrades take centre stage, with a fully digital instrument cluster and wider ADAS availability tipped across more variants.
Mahindra first launched the Scorpio N in 2022, and rivals like the Safari, Hector, and Alcazar have since received updates that brought a host of new features and more technology, leaving a clear tech gap between the Scorpio N and its competitors.
The carmaker appears ready to address that. The new 2026 Mahindra Scorpio N facelift is currently undergoing rigorous testing and has been spotted multiple times, with the updated SUV expected to arrive between Q3 and Q4 of 2026.
Mahindra has confirmed 16 new model launches by 2031, including 10 ICE vehicles and 6 EVs, and has planned nearly five new product launches for this year, including the facelifts of the Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic. While no official launch date has been announced, the frequency of test mule sightings suggests development is well advanced.
Exterior Changes Will Be Subtle but Purposeful
The Scorpio N has always worn its road presence with confidence, and that will not change. Spy shots suggest the facelifted Scorpio N will see minimal styling updates, with the front fascia expected to be refreshed with a slightly revised grille and air dam featuring horizontal slats and a tweaked bumper, while the LED headlamps and fog lamp assembly with C-shaped surrounds will remain unchanged.
The silhouette remains largely unchanged, except for a new set of alloy wheels that appear to be 19-inch units sourced from the Thar ROXX. No profound changes are expected at the rear and sides, though the Scorpio N facelift is expected to get an all-new front fascia, with previous test mules having been fitted with temporary makeshift headlights, suggesting the headlamps and housings will be revised.
The Interior is Where the Real Upgrades Lie
Step inside and the story changes considerably. The outgoing model has an 8-inch touchscreen that feels very dated in 2026. The new screen will likely be a 10.25-inch unit or larger, equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Spy shots also reveal a new dashboard with a larger free-standing touchscreen infotainment system and a new digital instrument cluster similar to the ones seen on the Thar ROXX, with Mahindra also appearing to have revised the placement of the centre console controls.
The SUV may also feature a panoramic sunroof and Level 2 ADAS being offered across more variants of the Scorpio N, whereas these are currently restricted to higher trims. Other expected additions include a more powerful Harman Kardon audio system, 360-degree cameras, front and rear ventilated seats, and a powered tailgate.
Engines Likely Carried Over Unchanged
The petrol version of the Scorpio N is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder mStallion turbo-petrol engine producing 200 PS and 380 Nm of torque, while the diesel version uses a 2.2-litre mHawk turbocharged unit producing 130 PS and 300 Nm in lower variants and 175 PS and 400 Nm in higher variants.
Both petrol and diesel versions are available with manual and automatic transmissions, and select diesel variants are offered with a 4x4 drivetrain. No changes to this powertrain lineup are expected with the facelift.
Once launched, the updated Scorpio N will continue to compete with rivals including the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector Plus. Given the sheer brand loyalty and street presence the Scorpio N commands in India, a well-executed tech refresh could be enough to keep it firmly at the top of the conversation.
