New Maruti XL6 Facelift Revealed Ahead of India Launch

The next-generation Maruti XL6 has been previewed through its Indonesian twin, the Suzuki XL7, revealing a refreshed front end, updated cabin trim and roof spoiler. Mechanically the MPV is set to carry over unchanged, with the same petrol and CNG engine options continuing ahead of an India launch expected later this year.

Maruti Suzuki is widely expected to bring an updated version of its popular XL6 to Indian showrooms later this year, and a recent international unveiling has already given buyers a fairly detailed preview.

recently revealed XL7, sold in Indonesia, shares its underpinnings with the XL6, and since the two models are developed on the same platform, most of the changes shown abroad are likely to make their way to the India spec car as well.

A Sharper Face For The Familiar MPV

The most noticeable updates on the facelifted model are found up front. There is a redesigned bumper, a wider grille finished in gloss black, and reshaped fog lamp housings that give the nose a slightly bolder stance.

A slim silver skid plate has also been added underneath, lending the car a touch more rugged appeal without altering its fundamental proportions. New gloss black alloy wheels complete the visual refresh, paired with black treatment across the ORVMs, door handles, roof and A-pillars for a subtle dual tone effect.

Round the back, changes are more restrained, with a new roof mounted spoiler being the standout addition while the tail lamp cluster and bumper design have been left largely as they were.

Cabin Sees A Modest Refresh

Step inside and the changes are far less dramatic. The dashboard now gets a glossier finish, though the broader layout has been retained from the outgoing model. Equipment is expected to stay much the same too, meaning buyers should still get a sizable touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity, a multifunction steering wheel, second row air conditioning vents mounted on the roof, cruise control and a 360 degree camera system. The all black cabin theme also appears set to continue rather than being replaced.

Powertrain Options Likely To Stay Untouched

Under the bonnet, no changes are anticipated. The updated XL6 is expected to persist with its familiar 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol unit, producing 102 bhp and 137 Nm of torque, paired with either a 6 speed manual or a 6 speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

A factory fitted CNG variant should also remain on offer, continuing to claim a fuel efficiency figure of 26.23 km per kg, an important consideration for family buyers watching running costs closely.

When Can Buyers Expect It In India

There has been no official word yet from Maruti Suzuki on a firm launch date. That said, industry expectation points towards the refreshed XL6 arriving in Indian showrooms before 2026 draws to a close, giving the brand a refreshed offering in the increasingly competitive three row MPV segment ahead of the coming festive season.
