Renault Duster Ccrosses 5,000 Units, Gets Free Maintenance

Renault India has crossed the 5,000-unit dispatch milestone for the new-generation Duster just months after its March 2026 comeback. To sweeten the deal further, the French automaker is now offering three years of complimentary service and maintenance under its Discovery Days campaign, valid until June 30, 2026, as it looks to close the gap on segment leaders.

  • The new-generation Renault Duster has recorded total wholesale dispatches of 5,028 units across its first three months on sale in India.

The Renault Duster has picked up where its predecessor left off, generating genuine excitement in the Indian midsize SUV segment.

Relaunched in March 2026 after a prolonged absence, the new-generation model has recorded cumulative wholesale dispatches of 5,028 units in its first three months. While it is still finding its footing against some well-entrenched rivals, the early momentum gives Renault a credible platform to build on.

Month-Wise Duster Dispatch Numbers Since Launch

Wholesale volumes climbed sharply through the first two months before settling in May. April was the strongest month, recording 2,359 units, while March and May came in at 1,402 and 1,267 units, respectively.

The April spike is consistent with the pattern seen in many new launches, where initial booking backlogs translate into a brief surge in dispatches before volumes normalise at a lower base.

How the Duster Stacks Up Against Segment Rivals

To put the numbers in perspective, the table below compares the Duster's monthly performance against its key competitors in the midsize SUV segment since September 2025.

The Hyundai Creta remains firmly in command with a monthly average of 16,885 units and a cumulative 1,51,963 units over the same period.

The Duster's monthly average of 1,676 units since launch reflects the reality of entering a segment that has been dominated by established players for years. That said, the Duster is the newest entrant of the lot, and its trajectory will be shaped significantly by the months ahead.

Discovery Days Campaign Brings 3 Years Free Servicing

Renault has moved to strengthen the Duster's ownership case through its Discovery Days campaign. Under the limited-period offer, buyers receive three years of complimentary service and maintenance, covering scheduled upkeep costs from the day of purchase.

The campaign runs until June 30, 2026, which leaves prospective buyers very little time to act. For anyone weighing up the total cost of ownership, this is a meaningful sweetener that directly addresses one of the more tangible concerns of the first-time Renault buyer.

Early Feedback and Bookings Remain Encouraging

Buyer sentiment around the Duster has been broadly positive since launch. The SUV has been appreciated for its rugged styling, well-appointed cabin, competitive pricing and confident road manners.

Dealerships have been actively reaching out to customers who booked under Renault's R-Pass programme to confirm variants and proceed with deliveries, indicating that retail momentum remains intact.

Duster Hybrid Could Shift the Numbers Significantly

The more consequential development on the horizon is the upcoming Duster Hybrid. Renault has confirmed strong consumer interest in the electrified variant, with initial booking allocations reportedly already closed. Pricing and deliveries are expected to be announced around the festive season.

If launched at the right price point, the Duster Hybrid has the potential to meaningfully lift monthly volumes and give Renault a genuine foothold in an increasingly electrification-conscious segment.
