The next-gen Tata Tiago gets a thorough design overhaul with Altroz-inspired styling, a 360-degree camera system, and continues with petrol and CNG powertrain options.
The second-generation Tiago EV arrives with a completely new exterior design while retaining its existing 19.2kWh and 24.0kWh battery packs.
Tata Motors has officially revealed both the next-generation Tiago and its electric counterpart ahead of their simultaneous launch on 28 May 2026, when prices will be announced.
The two cars together represent one of the more noteworthy product moments for Tata's entry-level range, giving the brand's most affordable hatchback a proper, ground-up visual refresh for the first time in years.
A New Face That Borrows From Its Bigger Sibling
The new petrol Tiago wears a front end that is clearly inspired by the Altroz. The headlamps are slimmer and fully LED, with integrated daytime running lights, and the bumper gets a blacked-out treatment paired with small fog lamps positioned on its lower section.
Sportier details include a blacked-out roof, shark fin antenna, and colour-matched wing mirrors. The alloy wheels are new too, now featuring a dual-tone finish. Even the red colour shade on display appears to have been borrowed from the Altroz's palette.
At the rear, the tail lamps mimic a connected appearance without being physically joined, and a mix of horizontal and vertical elements gives the back end a noticeably fresher look.
In terms of dimensions, the new Tiago is expected to remain under four metres with a wheelbase of around 2,400 mm, keeping it in the same footprint as the outgoing model.
The Interior Gets a Tech Upgrade
Full interior details are yet to be officially released, but camera units visible on the wing mirrors and front bumper confirm the addition of a 360-degree camera system. This is a first for the Tiago and should prove to be a genuinely welcome addition for urban buyers.
The cabin is expected to feature a revised instrument cluster and a larger infotainment screen, along with a refreshed interior theme.
Petrol and CNG Options Continue Unchanged
On the mechanical front, no changes are anticipated. The new Tiago is expected to carry over the existing 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, available with both manual and automatic gearbox options, along with a CNG variant.
Tiago EV Gets a Clean-Sheet Design for Generation Two
The second-generation Tiago EV has also been revealed for the first time. The front end is completely new, featuring smaller rectangular LED headlamps as part of a one-piece face design.
The rear gets the signature Tata connected tail lamp look in a fresh execution, with minimal badging and a new design for the aerodynamically optimised wheels.
Battery Packs and Range Remain the Same
Most of the interior is expected to stay largely as before, with possible updates to upholstery and dashboard colour options. The powertrains are unchanged.
The Tiago EV will continue with the 19.2kWh battery pack, which has an MIDC-claimed range of 223km, and the 24.0kWh pack with an MIDC range of 293km. These updates are also expected to inform the next-generation Tigor EV, which is expected to follow later this year.
What to Expect on May 28
With both cars now fully revealed, the only thing left to know is the price. The Next-gen Tiago is estimated to fall between Rs 4.59 lakh and Rs 7.90 lakh, while the Tiago EV is estimated in the range of Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 11.14 lakh. Those figures, if accurate, would keep both cars firmly competitive in their respective segments when prices go live on 28 May.
