The Sierra EV carries over Tata's familiar ICE-to-EV design language, with a blanked-off grille and revised colour treatment as the key distinguishing elements.
Set to launch on June 30, the electric SUV is expected to share its acti.ev+ platform and battery options with the Harrier EV, with prices likely starting at Rs 18 lakh.
With six days to go before its official market debut, Tata Motors has pulled the wraps off the Sierra EV's exterior through a new promotional video. The electric midsize SUV is set to launch on June 30, 2026, and this latest preview gives buyers their clearest look yet at what to expect when it arrives in showrooms.
Familiar Face With a Few Electric Touches
True to the approach Tata has taken with its previous ICE-to-EV conversions, the Sierra EV makes no dramatic visual departure from the standard Sierra. The most noticeable change up front is the blanked-off grille, finished in body colour rather than the blacked-out, functional unit found on the petrol model.
The front bumper gets a gloss-black treatment with a faux silver skid plate at the chin, effectively reversing the colourway from the ICE version. The LED light bar and all other lighting elements carry over unchanged, though the 'Sierra' lettering just below the light bar has been dropped on the EV.
Move around to the profile and rear, and the differences become even more understated. The 'Sierra.ev' badge on the front doors and tailgate is about all that sets it apart visually, and the 19-inch alloy wheels remain identical to those on the standard car.
New colour options, including what appears to be a silver shade in the promotional footage, are expected to be exclusive to the EV.
Interior and Features Yet to Be Confirmed
Tata has not shown the interior of the Sierra EV yet, but given the pattern established with its other electric models, significant carry-over from the ICE Sierra is almost certain.
Higher trims are widely expected to get a triple-screen layout featuring a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster alongside a 12.3-inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch front passenger display.
More affordable variants are likely to make do with a dual-screen arrangement and a head-up display. A panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, a premium audio system, and multiple drive modes are all anticipated features across the range.
Battery, Range and Powertrain Options
Shared Architecture With the Harrier EV
Mechanically, the Sierra EV is built on Tata's acti.ev+ architecture and is expected to carry forward the same 65kWh and 75kWh battery options that underpin the Harrier EV. Since the Sierra is physically smaller and lighter than the Harrier EV, its claimed range is likely to exceed the latter's 627km figure, though official numbers are yet to be announced.
Tata has confirmed that all-wheel drive will be available on the Sierra EV, likely reserved for the top-spec variant. Entry-level trims are expected to use a rear-wheel-drive setup.
Where It Sits and Who It Takes On
Priced tentatively between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom), the Sierra EV will slot neatly between the Curvv EV and the Harrier EV in Tata's growing electric lineup. It will go up against a competitive set of rivals, including the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, and Maruti e Vitara. With a complete reveal and full pricing expected on June 30, 2026, the wait is nearly over.
