Kia Syros EV Launched in India at Rs 13.50 Lakh

Kia has finally rolled out its most affordable electric car yet, the Syros EV, bringing a familiar face with a fresh battery-powered heart. Priced from Rs 13.50 lakh, and even lower under the Battery as a Service scheme, the compact SUV arrives with two battery choices, a spacious cabin and a long feature list. Here is everything you need to know about prices, design, interior and specifications.

  • The full price list, variants and battery options of the newly launched Kia Syros EV.

Kia India has rolled out its most wallet friendly electric car yet. The Syros EV has been launched at a starting price of Rs 13.50 lakh, and buyers who prefer not to pay for the battery upfront can opt for a Battery as a Service plan, bringing the entry cost down to Rs 7.99 lakh, along with a rental charge of Rs 3.3 per kilometre.

The Syros nameplate had already earned praise for being one of the more premium options in its class, though it struggled to translate that into strong sales. Kia will hope the electric version changes that story.

Design Stays Familiar with Subtle Tweaks

Rather than reinventing the look, Kia has kept the Syros EV visually close to its petrol sibling. Up front, there is a closed off grille finished in a pixel inspired pattern, a reworked bumper with silver highlights and a charging port built into the nose.

The vertically stacked LED headlamps and daytime running lights carry over unchanged. The side profile also remains largely the same, though new alloy wheels have been fitted to aid aerodynamics.

At the rear, the connected LED tail lamp setup is retained, with only minor revisions to the bumper, keeping the overall silhouette close to the standard model.

Interior and Features

Step inside and the cabin layout mirrors the ICE Syros, with a twin 12.3 inch display setup for infotainment and driver information. The centre console has been redesigned to free up extra storage space, and new upholstery choices help set the electric version apart.

On the features front, buyers get ventilated front and rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charger, a powered driver seat, ambient lighting and vehicle to load functionality.

Safety kit includes six airbags, electronic stability control, a 360 degree camera, parking sensors on both ends and Level 2 driver assistance.

Battery Options and Performance

Power comes from a single motor driving the front wheels. The 42 kWh pack delivers 135 PS and a claimed range of 443 km, while the larger 51.4 kWh unit produces 171 PS with a claimed range of 526 km. Both versions send 255 Nm of torque to the front wheels.
