All-New Electric Range Rover GT Unveiled as Brand’s 5th Model Lineup

Range Rover has unveiled the new GT, an electric grand tourer that takes the luxury brand in a new direction. Featuring a sleek, low-slung design, a minimalist technology-focused cabin and JLR’s new EMA platform, the model combines long-distance comfort with the brand’s familiar design language. Here’s what we know about its design, features and electric powertrain so far.

  • The Range Rover GT is the fifth model in the Range Rover family, marking a shift from traditional luxury SUVs to a low-slung electric grand tourer.

  • Built on JLR’s new Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA), it combines a clean, tech-focused cabin with long-distance comfort and the classic Range Rover design.

Range Rover has officially unveiled the new GT, an all-electric grand tourer that takes the brand in a new design direction. Moving away from the tall, upright proportions of its traditional SUVs, the GT features a lower stance and a more streamlined, coupe-inspired profile.

The new model is positioned as a luxury electric vehicle focused on long-distance comfort and refinement. It also introduces JLR's new Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA), which has been developed for the company's next generation of electrified models.

New Design Direction for Range Rover

The Range Rover GT features a noticeably lower roofline, shorter overhangs and a more planted stance than existing models. Despite the change in proportions, it retains familiar Range Rover design cues, including clean body surfaces, flush door handles and minimalist lighting elements.

Inside, the Range Rover GT carries the brand's minimalist design philosophy, featuring a digital instrument display, neatly integrated air vents and sustainable materials that give the cabin a clean, modern feel. The focus on comfort continues in the second row, which offers generous space for passengers on longer journeys.

Range Rover GT Uses New EMA Electric Platform

The Range Rover GT is based on JLR's new Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA) and is being developed as a battery-electric model. The platform is also designed to support hybrid powertrains in the future, although the GT has currently been revealed as a pure EV.

JLR is yet to reveal the full technical specifications of the electric grand tourer. Details such as battery capacity, driving range, power output and charging performance are expected to be announced. There is no official confirmation about an India launch yet, but the Range Rover GT could be introduced in the country as an imported model.
