Tata Motors has confirmed four new electric vehicles in the pipeline, with the Sierra EV set to debut on June 30, 2026.
The Safari EV is widely expected to be among the undisclosed models, with a potential electric MPV also reportedly in the works.
Tata Motors has laid out a clear and ambitious electric vehicle roadmap, confirming plans to bring four new EVs to market over the next five years. The announcement forms part of the company's broader product strategy, which also includes six new internal combustion engine nameplates by FY2031.
For buyers already invested in the electric future, the EV side of this plan is where things get particularly interesting.
Sierra EV and Tigor EV Arrive in 2026
The first of the four confirmed electric models is the Sierra EV, which is set to be officially unveiled on June 30, 2026. It has been one of the most anticipated electric launches from the homegrown automaker, and its imminent debut marks a significant moment for Tata's EV lineup.
Following closely behind, the Tigor EV is also slated to arrive before the year is out, making 2026 a notably busy year for the brand on the electric front.
Avinya Completes the Near-Term EV Plan
Rounding out the confirmed trio in the near term is the Avinya, which Tata has previously showcased and is expected to arrive in 2027.
Unlike most Tata models that come with both petrol and electric options, the Avinya is being developed as an electric-exclusive product, signalling a more dedicated approach to purpose-built EVs within the portfolio.
Two More Models Yet to Be Announced
Safari EV Points Towards Flagship Status
Beyond the three confirmed names, Tata has not yet revealed the identity of the remaining product in its EV pipeline. However, the Safari EV is widely regarded as the most logical addition, and if it arrives ahead of the Avinya, it would effectively become the flagship electric offering in the range.
Much like its ICE sibling, the Safari EV is expected to share its specifications, features, and powertrain options with the Harrier EV.
A Budget Electric MPV Could be on the Cards
The fourth electric model is thought to be a three-row electric MPV positioned in the more accessible end of the market. While Tata has made no official statement on this front, the logic is hard to argue with.
The segment is already seeing growing competition, with the Vinfast VF 7, BYD eMax 7, and Kia Carens Clavis EV all in the mix. Maruti is also said to be readying a seven-seat electric MPV, which would only intensify the rivalry further.
With four electric models confirmed and a host of ICE launches on the horizon, Tata Motors appears to be methodically expanding its footprint across every major segment in the Indian market.
