The mid-size electric SUV will be sold under JSW Motors and is offered in two powertrain configurations with claimed ranges of up to 430 kilometres.
Chinese automaker Chery Automobile has been steadily building its presence in India through a pipeline of patented models, most of which carry new energy vehicle powertrains spanning pure electric and plug-in hybrid setups.
Alongside the Jetour T2 and Jaecoo J5 EV, the iCAUR V23 has emerged as one of the more frequently sighted test mules on Indian roads. All three models are expected to reach buyers under JSW Motors, the independent car brand launched by the JSW Group. Now, the iCAUR V23 has been spotted completely undisguised, suggesting its Indian debut is edging closer.
Design Details the Spy Shot Gives Away
The test vehicle was seen wearing West Bengal temporary registration plates, and while the available photograph is not the sharpest, it reveals enough to confirm the car's identity.
The off-centre spare tyre bracket mounted on the tailgate is a distinctive styling choice, as are the glass strip inserts running along either end of the body.
Perhaps the most unusual detail for an electric vehicle is the open-mesh front grille, which is a relatively uncommon feature in the EV segment where aerodynamic concerns typically lead to sealed fascias.
Cabin and Dimensions
At 4.2 metres in length, the iCAUR V23 sits firmly in mid-size SUV territory. The interior is well-equipped for its class, featuring a 15.4-inch QHD touchscreen infotainment system, a column-mounted drive selector, grab handles, a front sun visor with a vanity mirror, and cup holders at the front centre console.
Two Powertrain Options on Offer
The iCAUR V23 will be available in two distinct configurations. The base setup is a 2WD variant powered by a single motor producing 134bhp and 180Nm of torque, drawing from a 59.93kWh LFP battery with a claimed range of 360 kilometres.
The more capable AWD variant uses a dual-motor arrangement delivering 208.1bhp and 292Nm, backed by a larger 81.76kWh NMC battery good for 430 kilometres of claimed range. The AWD version completes the 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 7.5 seconds.
When Can India Expect It
While the Jetour T2 has been tipped for a festive season announcement, a timeline for the iCAUR V23 and the Jaecoo J5 EV has not been confirmed. That said, an undisguised sighting of this nature typically points to a formal reveal not being too far away.
