Know the newly confirmed Kia Seltos GTX(O) and X-Line(O) variants, their expected feature additions over the current top-spec trims, and the powertrain options they will be offered with.
Details about the pricing, expected launch timeline, and how these variants fit into the competitive compact SUV segment in India.
Kia's Seltos has been making the right sort of headlines lately. After achieving an impressive five-star rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests, the SUV is now set to gain two new top-of-the-range variants.
The GTX(O) and X-Line(O) trims were spotted in the Bharat NCAP assessment documentation, and while they are not currently part of the Seltos lineup, their inclusion in the test results strongly suggests they will be introduced in the coming months.
What the New Variants Are Expected to Offer Over the Existing Top-Spec Trims
Both variants are expected to be based on the current top-spec GTX(A) and X-Line(A) trims, functioning as optional feature packs rather than entirely new model grades. That means the visual identity of each trim remains largely intact. The GT-Line continues with its sportier bumpers, dual-tone alloy wheels, and green brake callipers, while the X-Line retains its signature blacked-out exterior elements.
Where things get interesting is inside the cabin. The GTX(O) and X-Line(O) are expected to add an air purifier, a power-adjustable front passenger seat, a heads-up display, and built-in navigation over and above what the existing top trims already offer.
The feature set they carry over is already quite substantial, and includes an eight-speaker Bose sound system, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10-way power-adjustable driver seat with memory function, dual-zone climate control, and ventilated front seats.
Safety Features on the GTX(O) and X-Line(O)
On the safety front, the new variants are expected to feature a Level 2 ADAS suite, six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, front, side and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, hill hold assist, electronic stability programme, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. It is a thorough package that leaves little to be desired at this price point.
Powertrain Choices Limited to Automatic Transmissions
Unlike most other Seltos variants that span all three engine options, the GTX(O) and X-Line(O) are expected to be offered only with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel engines, both paired exclusively with automatic gearboxes.
The turbo-petrol produces 160 PS and 253 Nm, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The diesel, meanwhile, puts out 116 PS and 250 Nm through a six-speed torque-converter automatic.
The naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol, which is only offered with a manual or a CVT in the existing range, will not feature here.
Expected Price and Launch Timeline
Kia has not officially announced a launch date, but the GTX(O) and X-Line(O) are expected to go on sale sometime in May or June 2026. Positioned above the existing GTX(A) and X-Line(A) variants, they are likely to be priced in the range of Rs 19 lakh to Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
Where the Seltos Stands in a Busy Segment
The Seltos competes in one of the hottest segments in the Indian market. Its rivals include the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Tata Sierra, Renault Duster, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.
With the GTX(O) and X-Line(O) variants, Kia appears to be making a case for the Seltos as the benchmark for premium features in this class, just shy of the Rs 20 lakh mark.
