VinFast VF MPV 7 Launch in India: Range, Features, & Bookings

VinFast is set to strengthen its presence in India with the upcoming launch of the VF MPV 7, an all-electric people mover designed for families. With bookings already open for ₹21,000, the MPV is expected to offer a spacious cabin, modern features and practical performance, making it a strong contender in India’s growing electric vehicle market.

  • VinFast has officially opened pre-bookings for the VF MPV 7, with the official price announcement scheduled for April 15, 2026.

  • The electric MPV promises a range of over 500km on a single charge and will be offered exclusively in a spacious seven-seat configuration.

The Indian electric vehicle market is about to witness a major new entrant as Vietnamese automaker VinFast prepares to launch its highly anticipated VF MPV 7. With deliveries expected to begin soon after launch, the brand has officially opened the doors for customers to reserve their spot for a token amount of Rs 21,000.

Power and Performance

The 2026 VinFast VF MPV 7 is built to deliver both efficiency and punchy performance. Under the floor sits a substantial 60.1kWh battery pack paired with a front-axle-mounted electric motor. This setup generates a healthy 201 bhp and 280 Nm of torque, allowing the MPV to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 10 seconds.

For those concerned about range, VinFast claims an impressive 500km+ on a single charge, making it a viable option for both city commutes and long family road trips. Drivers can also customise their experience by using three distinct drive modes and three levels of regenerative braking.

Focus on practicality and family use

The VF MPV 7 focuses on passenger comfort and modern technology. Unlike some global versions, the Indian model will be sold strictly as a seven-seater, prioritising family utility.

The cabin is equipped with:

  • 10.1-inch Touchscreen: A centralised hub for infotainment and vehicle settings.

  • Luxury Touches: Leatherette upholstery and all-LED lighting create a premium ambiance.

  • Passenger Comfort: AC vents for all three rows and second-row split seats with a "tumble" function for easy access to the back.

  • Connectivity: A mix of USB Type-A and Type-C ports ensures all devices stay charged on the go.

The vehicle’s exterior is equally impressive, featuring 19-inch alloy wheels and a modern design language that measures 4,740mm in length with a long 2,840mm wheelbase, ensuring ample legroom for all occupants.

Market Strategy of VinFast in India

The launch of the VF MPV 7 is part of VinFast’s larger plan to expand in India with multiple electric models. While many EV manufacturers are experimenting with Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programs to lower initial costs, VinFast has confirmed that it has no plans to introduce BaaS in India at this time.

The company is currently studying the market dynamics for such a program but will proceed with a traditional ownership model for the April 15 launch.

Alongside SUVs, VinFast is now exploring new segments such as MPVs to reach a wider audience. The brand is also working on building its dealership network, charging infrastructure and local manufacturing capabilities in India to support its long-term growth.

Growing demand for electric MPVs in India

India’s EV market is evolving rapidly, with increasing interest in larger electric vehicles beyond compact SUVs. The VF MPV 7 is expected to compete with upcoming electric MPVs and premium family-oriented EVs in India. It features a combination of practical dimensions and high-end EV tech.

With rising fuel costs, government incentives and improved charging infrastructure, electric MPVs could become a practical choice for families and fleet operators alike.
