Affordable MG Hector and Hector Plus: Latest Price Revisions and New Variants

MG Motor has once again made its mark in affordability with the latest price revisions for the MG Hector and Hector Plus. This move follows previous adjustments in February 2024 and November 2023, signaling MG's commitment to offering competitive pricing in the SUV segment. The introduction of new Shine Pro and Select Pro variants further adds to the appeal. Let's delve into the details:

MG Hector Price Revisions:

Petrol Variant:

  • Base-spec Style variant of the MG Hector petrol sees a substantial reduction of Rs 96,000.

  • Prices for the Smart Pro and Savvy Pro variants remain unchanged.

  • Powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with 143 PS and 250 Nm.

Diesel Variant:

  • No price reduction for the base variant; Shine Pro variant is introduced at a Rs 20,000 premium.

  • The newly introduced Savvy Pro variant costs Rs 20,000 more than the Smart variant.

  • Higher-spec Smart Pro and Sharp Pro variants retain their existing prices.

  • Equipped with a 2-litre diesel engine generating 170 PS and 350 Nm, available only with a 6-speed manual.

    MG Hector Plus Price Revisions:

Petrol Variant:

  • Discontinuation of the base-spec Smart 7-seater variant; Hector Plus Petrol now starts at Rs 18 lakh, a slight increase of Rs 25,000.

  • Prices for other petrol variants remain unchanged.

    Diesel Variant:

  • Introduction of a more affordable base-spec Style variant (6- and 7-seater configurations) results in a significant Rs 2.4 lakh reduction in the diesel option's cost.

  • New mid-spec Select Pro 7-seater variant is introduced.

  • Prices for Smart Pro and Sharp Pro 6-seater variants remain unaffected, while the 7-seater Sharp Pro variant sees a price cut of Rs 21,000.

    Shine Pro & Select Pro Variants Highlights:

Key Features:

  • Both variants feature a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

  • Push-button engine start/stop available with both manual and automatic transmission options.

  • Connected LED tail lamps introduced in Shine Pro variant, not offered in the regular Shine variant.

  • Shine Pro equipped with a single-pane sunroof, while the Select Pro boasts a panoramic sunroof.

Rivals in the Market:

MG Hector: Competing with Tata Harrier and 5-seater variants of Mahindra XUV700.

MG Hector Plus: Taking on Tata Safari, 6/7-seater variants of XUV700, and Hyundai Alcazar.
