The VinFast VF MPV 7 is set to launch in India on April 15, 2026, packing a 60.1 kWh battery with a claimed range of over 500 km in a seven-seat-only layout.
VinFast's fleet-focused Limo Green variant will arrive under its GSM sub-brand with a stripped-down feature set, while the brand targets 75 dealerships and 230 workshops across India by the end of 2026.
After first surfacing in India as a patent filing under the Limo Green name, VinFast's electric seven-seater MPV is now just weeks away from its official market debut. The production version, badged as the VF MPV 7, will go on sale on April 15, 2026, and will be available exclusively in a seven-seat layout.
Under the skin, the VF MPV 7 is powered by a 201 bhp electric motor producing 280 Nm of torque, paired with a 60.1 kWh battery pack. While earlier global figures suggested a range of around 450 km, the India-specific model has been confirmed to offer a claimed range of more than 500 km.
Fast charging is part of the package too, with an 80 kW DC fast charger taking the battery from 10 to 70 per cent in roughly 30 minutes. The VF MPV 7 is expected to go up against the Kia Carens Clavis EV in a segment that is quietly becoming one of the more interesting battlegrounds in Indian EVs.
Limo Green Lives On, Exclusively for the Fleet Market
The Limo Green nameplate has not been shelved entirely. Instead, it is finding a rather specific home. VinFast will introduce it in India under GSM, its fleet-oriented sub-brand that stands for Green and Smart Mobility and already operates in Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Laos. In India, the Limo Green will serve as the vehicle of choice for Vinfast's electric cab and ride-hailing operations.
Mechanically, the Limo Green is identical to the VF MPV 7, but it comes with a more restrained feature set suited to commercial use. Among its distinguishing characteristics is a speed governor that caps the top speed at 80 kmph, a requirement common to fleet and taxi operations in India.
By keeping the two variants under separate nameplates, VinFast avoids the common pitfall of a fleet version diluting the appeal of its private-buyer product.
Dealership and Workshop Network on Course for Steady Growth
On the infrastructure front, VinFast currently operates 50 dealerships and 130 workshops across India. By the close of 2026, the brand plans to scale this up to 75 dealerships and 230 workshops. The growth may not appear dramatic at first glance, but for a brand that only recently entered one of the world's toughest automotive markets, a measured and manageable expansion is arguably the smarter long-term play.
What This Signals for Vinfast's India Strategy
VinFast is clearly playing a longer game here. Rather than flooding the market all at once, the brand is laying down a practical foundation, one model and one service point at a time. The dual-brand approach, retail under VF MPV 7 and fleet under Limo Green via GSM, shows a degree of strategic thinking that goes beyond simply selling cars.
Whether the 15 April pricing announcement is compelling enough to convert buyers in a crowded segment remains to be seen, but the groundwork being put in place suggests VinFast is very much here for the long run.
