The GLE and GLS Night Editions are globally limited variants dressed in exclusive colours and bespoke interior finishes unavailable on standard models.
The GLE Night Edition gains Airmatic suspension as standard, with both models carrying a modest premium over their respective base configurations.
Mercedes-Benz India has officially launched Night Edition variants of the GLE and GLS, its two highest-selling luxury SUVs in the country. These are not mere trim upgrades or visual packages slapped onto existing stock. They form part of a global limited series with restricted unit availability, and critically, they arrive in configurations that are not replicated on any standard variant of either model. That distinction matters, and it is precisely what makes this launch worth paying attention to.
Darkened Looks, Exclusive Colours, and a Cabin That Feels the Part
An Exterior Treatment That Commands Attention
Both the GLE and GLS Night Editions receive a darkened exterior aesthetic, available in two colour options, Obsidian Black and Alpine Grey.
The latter is exclusive to the Night Edition series and is simply not offered on any standard variant of either the GLE or the GLS. That alone gives the edition a visual identity that stands apart on the road.
Interior Appointments That Are Unique to This Edition
Step inside, and the Night Edition continues to make its case. Both models receive black Nappa leather upholstery paired with Anthracite open-pore oak wooden trim, neither of which features in the standard configurations.
A heads-up display comes fitted as standard across both models, further rounding out an interior that feels properly considered rather than merely cosmetic.
On the GLE Night Edition specifically, Airmatic suspension is included as standard equipment, which represents a meaningful addition given what that system does for ride quality and composure.
Prices Across All Four Variants and How They Compare to the Standard Range
The GLE Night Edition is priced at Rs. 1.05 crore for the 300d 4MATIC and Rs. 1.14 crore for the 450 4MATIC. The GLS Night Edition comes in at Rs. 1.41 crore for the 450 4MATIC and Rs. 1.43 crore for the 450d 4MATIC, with all figures quoted ex-showroom across India.
In terms of what you pay over the standard lineup, the GLE Night Edition 300d asks Rs. 5 lakh more than the regular GLE 300d, whilst the GLE Night Edition 450 carries a Rs. 2.50 lakh premium.
For the GLS, the Night Edition 450 4MATIC is priced Rs. 1.30 lakh above the standard GLS 450 AMG Line, and the Night Edition 450d 4MATIC commands a Rs. 5.50 lakh premium over the GLS 450d AMG Line. Given the exclusive content on offer, the ask feels measured rather than extravagant.
