Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition Launched in India at Rs. 58.90 Lakh

Mini India has officially announced the price of the Cooper S GP Inspired Edition at Rs. 58.90 lakh (ex-showroom), bringing a motorsport-flavoured, limited-run variant to Indian shores. Capped at just 30 units nationally, the car builds on the Cooper S with race-inspired bodywork, a distinctive Legend Grey and Chilli Red finish, a well-appointed cabin featuring a JCW steering wheel and sport seats, and a 201bhp turbocharged engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox that gets it to 100kmph in 6.6 seconds.

  • Mini India has launched the Cooper S GP Inspired Edition at Rs. 58.90 lakh, with only 30 units available across the country.

  • The special edition brings GP-inspired exterior upgrades, a kitted-out cabin, and a 201bhp turbo-petrol engine with a 6.6-second century sprint.

Mini India has announced the price of the Cooper S GP Inspired Edition at Rs. 58.90 lakh (ex-showroom), with bookings for the model having opened at the beginning of May 2026.

Availability is strictly limited to 30 units across the country. For anyone who has been waiting on an answer to just how much this one costs, there it is. And given how few cars are on offer, the window to act is about as narrow as you would expect.

What Sets It Apart on the Outside

Positioned above the JCW Pack variant in the Cooper lineup, the GP Inspired Edition introduces revised bumpers, a new grille design, side skirts, a roof spoiler, and 17-inch black alloy wheels. Each car also wears a '1 of 30' badge on the C-pillar, a quiet but pointed reminder of just how rare this thing is.

Beyond the structural changes, the car draws from GP heritage with a rear diffuser, bonnet stripes, illuminated door sills, and front and side winglets. The paint scheme is exclusive to this edition Legend Grey with Chilli Red mirror caps and roof and it is a combination that works rather well. It is the sort of colour pairing that looks deliberate without trying too hard.

The Cabin Is Properly Sorted

Step inside and the GP Inspired Edition makes a decent case for itself. It receives a JCW-specification steering wheel and sport seats with red accents on the headrests, lending the interior a purposeful feel that matches the exterior's intent.

Equipment levels are generous too, with Level 1 ADAS, a head-up display, panoramic sunroof, a powered driver's seat, a 9.4-inch circular touchscreen infotainment unit, and wireless charging all included.

Familiar Engine, Brisk Enough Performance

The Numbers Under the Bonnet

Power comes from the well-proven 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, producing 201bhp and 300Nm of torque.

Drive is sent to the front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, and the car covers the 0 to 100kmph sprint in 6.6 seconds. These are not track-day numbers by any stretch, but they are more than adequate for road use and certainly in keeping with the car's GP-inspired character.

Worth It?

At Rs. 58.90 lakh, this is not an impulse purchase for most. But the combination of race-inspired aesthetics, a well-specced interior, an exclusive colour scheme, and production numbers that barely fill a modest car park gives the GP Inspired Edition a compelling argument.

With only 30 units allocated to the entire country, those interested would do well not to sit on the fence for too long.
