Our Park+ Highlight of the Day includes launch details on the Tata Nexon EV Max for model year 2023.
The Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux has been modified by Tata Motors with a new 10.25-inch infotainment display and extra connection options. The EV now has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as 180 voice commands in six languages, and is priced from 18 lakh 79 thousand rupees. Reverse camera and sound system quality have both been improved.
A 40.5kWh battery pack, or around 10kWh more than the Nexon EV standard, is included with the Nexon EV Max. The boot capacity of the Nexon EV Max remains the same at 350 litres despite the larger battery pack; this is unchanged from the standard Nexon EV.
The Nexon EV Max has a range of 437 km, according to the ARAI, which is 125 kilometres longer than the Nexon EV's range. However, the Nexon EV only accomplished 208 kilometres in our real-world range test. It is anticipated that the Nexon EV Max will have a real-world range of about 300 kilometres.
The Nexon EV Max weighs 70 kg more than the normal Nexon EV because of the bigger battery and an additional 30 kg because of the extra equipment. Tata Motors modified the floor structure to fit the larger battery and tweaked the springs and dampers to handle the extra weight. Its ground clearance is also 10mm less.
The Nexon EV Max has a 143hp motor that produces 250 Nm of torque, which is 14hp and 5Nm higher than the Nexon EV in terms of power. The automaker claims that the electric SUV would reach 100 kph in less than 9 seconds.
Additionally, Tata Motors offers two models: a 3.3kW AC charger that comes standard with the SUV and a 7.2kW AC charger that is more potent. The 3.3kW AC charger for the Nexon EV Max takes around 15–16 hours to completely charge, but the 7.2kW AC charger needs only five–six hours. Tata Motors says that a 50kW DC fast charger can complete a full charge from 0% to 80% in 56 minutes.
Additionally, the Nexon EV Max receives 48 new functions with the improved ZConnect 2.0 connected car technology. Additionally, it has Multi-Mode Regen with four degrees of braking assistance, the greatest level of which facilitates single-pedal driving. Tata Motors has implemented an automatic brake lamp feature that goes on when a certain level of regeneration is achieved, thereby alerting oncoming traffic.
The Nexon EV Max range costs Rs 2.95 lakh more than the Tata Nexon EV base model. The Nexon EV Max is available from Tata Motors in two versions and four sub-variants. The Tata Nexon EV Max XZ+ with the 3.3kW charger, which costs Rs 17.74 lakh, is the entry point in the lineup. The Tata Nexon EV Max XZ+ with the 7.2kW AC fast charger is the following option and costs Rs 18.24 lakh. The highest-specified Tata Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux starts at Rs 18.74 lakh for the 3.3kW option, while the Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux with a 7.2kW AC fast charger is the most costly model in the lineup, costing Rs 19.24 lakh.
In the upcoming weeks, Nexon EV Max deliveries will start. Like the Nexon EV regular model, the Nexon EV Max lacks any direct competitors. The basic Nexon EV is increasingly becoming popular as an electric SUV in India, and in certain areas there is already a six-month waiting list.
