Mini Countryman C Locally Assembled in India, Priced at Rs. 58.50 Lakh

Mini's flagship SUV is heading to India in its most accessible form yet. The Countryman C arrives as a locally assembled petrol variant, priced at Rs. 58.50 lakh, and brings with it a well-equipped single variant underpinned by a spirited 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine. With bookings already open and a launch expected before the end of May 2026, it marks a meaningful step for the British brand in the Indian premium SUV space.

  • The Mini Countryman C will be the first locally assembled model in the Countryman range for India, priced at Rs. 58.50 lakh.

  • It is powered solely by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine paired with a seven-speed DCT, offered in one fully loaded variant.

A Locally Built Countryman That Undercuts Its Own Range

Mini is preparing to expand its Countryman lineup in India with the addition of the Countryman C, and this one carries a particularly interesting distinction. It will be the first locally assembled model in the Countryman range, arriving at a price of Rs. 58.50 lakh. That puts it Rs. 7.65 lakh below the JCW All4 variant and at a broadly similar price point to the Countryman Electric Classic Pack.

Bookings for the Countryman C opened on April 22, 2026, and the car is expected to be formally launched later this month, though no delivery dates have been confirmed at the time of writing.

One Powertrain, One Variant, Four Colour Choices

The Countryman C keeps things straightforward on the specification front. It is offered in a single fully loaded variant and comes with four exterior colour options.

Under the bonnet sits Mini's 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, which produces 170bhp and 280Nm of torque. Drive is handled exclusively by a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. There is no manual option or alternative engine on offer.

Dimensions and Equipment That Justify the Premium

The Countryman is the largest car Mini currently makes, measuring 4.45 metres in length with a wheelbase of 2.69 metres. Despite its compact footprint by SUV standards, the interior is well-appointed.

Equipment on the fully loaded variant includes a 9.0-inch central touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, a dual-pane sunroof and a full-LED light package. The cabin is finished in a beige-over-black colour scheme, with the dashboard constructed using recycled materials. The signature Mini two-spoke steering wheel rounds off the interior aesthetic, keeping the character of the brand firmly intact.

Premium Rivals

The Countryman C enters a segment that already has some well-established players. It will compete directly with the Audi Q3 Sportback, the BMW X1 and the Mercedes-Benz GLA.

Given its local assembly, the Rs. 58.50 lakh price tag positions it more aggressively than a fully imported equivalent would allow, which could give it a genuine edge in this class.
