Citroen has raised prices on three C3X variants by Rs. 4,000, effective immediately
The complete C3X range is now priced between Rs. 4.99 lakh and Rs. 8.77 lakh, ex-showroom
Citroen India has quietly but firmly revised the prices of its most accessible model, the C3X hatchback. Effective immediately, select variants of the C3X have seen a price increase of Rs. 4,000. The revision is not sweeping the entire lineup, but it does touch some of the most popular entry-level choices in the range, which will inevitably be felt by buyers looking at the lower end of the price spectrum.
This is not the first time Citroen has revisited its pricing this year. The French carmaker recently carried out similar upward revisions on the AircrossX and the BasaltX, indicating a pattern of periodic adjustments that is becoming a feature of the brand's pricing strategy in India.
Three Variants Affected, Others Left Unchanged
The Rs. 4,000 hike applies specifically to the Live, Live CNG, and Live (O) variants of the C3X. Following the revision, the Live and Live CNG variants are now priced at Rs. 4.99 lakh each, while the Live (O) variant comes in at Rs. 5.53 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
Citroen has chosen not to revise the pricing on the remaining variants in the C3X range, which means buyers eyeing the higher-spec trims will find no change in what they are expected to pay.
The full lineup continues to span from Rs. 4.99 lakh to Rs. 8.77 lakh, ex-showroom, keeping the C3X competitive within its segment.
A Look at What the C3X Brings Under the Bonnet
Petrol and CNG Options Across the Range
The C3X is underpinned by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that is offered in two states of tune, naturally aspirated and turbocharged. This gives buyers the flexibility to choose between relaxed city driving and something with a bit more urgency on the open road.
On the gearbox front, Citroen offers three choices: a five-speed manual, a six-speed manual, and a six-speed torque converter automatic. The variety on offer ensures that the C3X can be tailored to suit different driving preferences and urban conditions.
For those inclined towards the CNG route, the option is available, though it is worth noting that the CNG setup is offered as a dealer-level retrofit rather than a factory-fitted unit.
Despite the modest price increase, the C3X continues to hold a reasonable position in the affordable hatchback space. The Rs. 4,000 rise is unlikely to alter purchase decisions significantly, but in a segment where every rupee counts, buyers would do well to factor the new prices into their calculations before heading to a showroom.
