Hyundai India will revise prices upward by up to one per cent across its full model range, effective May 2026
The hike is attributed to a combination of cost escalations, with the exact increase varying by model and variant
It was only a matter of time. Hyundai India has officially confirmed that prices for its entire range of cars sold in the country will be revised upward from May 2026. The hike will be up to one per cent, though the precise quantum of the increase will differ depending on the model and variant in question.
The company has cited a combination of cost escalations as the reason behind the decision, without going into specific detail on which cost heads have contributed most significantly.
This is not an isolated move. Several other manufacturers had already announced similar revisions from April 2026, each with varying degrees of increase and broadly similar justifications. Hyundai is simply the latest to follow suit, and the announcement comes at a time when the Indian car market has been witnessing consistent demand, particularly in the SUV segment.
Which Models Could Be Affected
The revision is expected to apply across Hyundai's full line-up in India. That potentially brings in recently launched products such as the Grand i10 Nios Vibe Edition, the Creta Summer Edition, the 2026 Verna, and the 2026 Exter.
What remains to be confirmed is whether these newly introduced offerings will see adjustments to their freshly set prices or whether the revision will be limited to older variants and configurations.
The Venue Faces Its Third Hike This Year
Perhaps the most notable element of this revision is what it could mean for the Venue, Hyundai's popular sub-compact SUV. The model already saw price increases in both January and March of 2026.
Should the May revision apply to it as well, the Venue would have received three separate price hikes within a single calendar year, a striking trend that reflects the broader cost pressures manufacturers are navigating.
What This Means for Buyers
For anyone actively considering a Hyundai purchase, the next few weeks carry some urgency. A hike of up to one per cent may not sound dramatic in isolation, but on a car priced at Rs 15 lakh, across premium variants and higher trims, the impact is naturally greater.
The smarter move, then, is to either finalize a booking before the end of April or, at the very least, confirm the exact revised pricing with your dealer before taking delivery. In a market where manufacturers are increasingly passing on cost burdens to the end consumer, staying informed is half the battle.
