Tata Tiago comes from the legacy of Tata Indica, while Hyundai Grand i10 Nios has the i10's shoes to fill in. So, which entry-level hatchback should you choose? Both hatchbacks are almost similar when it comes to their specifications. Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is slightly better in terms of fuel efficiency while Tata Tiago takes the lead in power output capabilities. However, what makes a major difference is the number of cylinders both cars have in their engine. As you can see, Tiago offers a 3-cylinder engine while Grand i10 Nios has a 4-cylinder engine. Hyundai Grand i10 Nios has a more refined and stable engine as compared to the Tiago, which has a gruntier engine with more engine vibrations.

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Steering mounted controls, wireless phone charger, cruise control, rear AC vents, electrically adjustable ORVMs, height adjustable driver seat, rear wiper, and much more.

When it comes to comfort and convenience features, both cars offer an adequate amount of features. Next, let us examine the safety features both hatchbacks have to offer.

Tata Tiago received a safety rating of 4 stars in the Global NCAP crash test, which makes it one of the safest cars in the segment. Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, on the other hand, has scored a 2-star rating for the same crash test. However, please note that this rating has not been updated for i10 Nios.

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios starts at ?5,68,500. The top-spec i10 Nios will cost you ?8,46,500. The CNG starts at ?7,56,000.

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios surely commands a higher price.

Tata Tiago offers better safety and prices while the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios offers better features and refined performance. As for safety, you should consider that the updated i10 Nios has not been tested through the Global NCAP crash test.
