The complete specifications of the cheaper Harrier EV 65 are already known since Tata Motors officially announced the prices of the whole Harrier EV RWD range. The EV 65 model is also balanced between its price and performance, as it claims to have great range results, middle charging times, and sufficient electric power to drive around the city and on the highway.
Battery, Motor, and Performance Details
The Harrier EV 65 has a battery pack capacity of 65kWh and a rear-mounted motor (175hp, 315Nm), making it the core of the device. The ARAI certified value is 538km, but Tata claims in real life the car can cover 420km - 445km, which is achievable by the majority of users.
About that, it is 89km worse than the bigger 75kWh one, but it is still plenty enough to use on a daily basis and inter-city travel.
The cargo trunk space of the RWD model is also notable, with an impressive 67 litres, compared to only 35 litres of the AWD one, inextricably linking the frunk and the trunk capacities of the different models, both in the relative space use.
Charging Times: Charging times are faster when it matters
The Harrier EV 65 has an added advantage of faster charging technology, using 7.2kW AC, 10 to 100 percent in 9.3 hours. Both versions can charge to the range of 20-80 per cent after 25 minutes using a 100kW DC fast charger, therefore, improving the chances of long EV journeys.

AWD Adds Ruggedness, Not Just Power
The EV 65 is a rear-wheel drive only model, although Tata now has a higher capability AWD variant (QWD as called by Tata) that adds a second 158hp motor up front, Boost driving mode, and more terrain-related settings such as Mud, Rock and Snow/Grass.
The gradeability of the AWD model is also high at 47% as compared to 28% in RWD versions.
Peace of Mind warranty
The Tata Harrier EV 65 will have one of the best 15-year lifetime battery warranties from the date of registration, as all the Harrier EV variants. There is coverage of the second owners too, who receive 10 years of warranty or 2 lakh kilometres.
Through this strategic EV rollout, Tata is still consolidating its advantage in India as far as electric mobility goes. The Harrier EV 65 especially comes up as an interesting alternative to customers who want to buy an electric SUV with a long range without having to pay a fortune.
