Highlights the main modifications and attributes of the updated Suzuki Across SUV for 2026.
Explains how the long-standing alliance between Suzuki and Toyota has influenced this new model.
With the formal release of the 2026 Suzuki Across SUV, Suzuki and Toyota will continue their close partnership. Similar to its predecessor, this new model is essentially a rebranded, European-specific version of the most recent Toyota RAV4 plug-in hybrid (PHEV).
Although Suzuki offers several SUVs in other markets under different names, the Across model is based directly on Toyota's electric SUV platform.
Design Reminiscent of the RAV4
On the outside, the new Across looks a lot like the existing RAV4 series, particularly the Adventure-style models. It has a prominent grille, a robust bumper design, sharper headlamps, and a redesigned front fascia that give it a confident road presence. Massive Grey, Ever Rest, and Attitude Black are the four colour options that have been confirmed at launch.
Within the cabin, the Across closely resembles Toyota's design, providing a roomy interior with simple "island architecture" controls. In addition to a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a sizable 12.9-inch touchscreen entertainment system, the SUV has features like heated seats and a head-up display that are designed to improve the driving experience.
Performance and Powertrain
The Across's internal plug-in hybrid drivetrain is the same as that of the RAV4 PHEV. This includes a 22.7 kWh battery pack, two electric motors, and a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine. This combination generates about 304 horsepower, making it one of Suzuki's most potent models to date.
The SUV's E-Four all-wheel-drive technology ensures assured grip on a variety of surfaces, and it can accelerate quickly and cover a considerable distance on electricity alone.
Security and Technology
The new Across places a strong emphasis on safety, including several cutting-edge driver-support features such as dynamic radar cruise control, lane tracing aid, a panoramic 3D camera, and a pre-collision system with radar and camera.
According to Suzuki, these technologies are meant to give both drivers and passengers more protection and peace of mind.
Outlook for the Market
Throughout the year, the 2026 Suzuki Across is anticipated to launch in important European markets. The strategic use of Toyota's hybrid technology by Suzuki, even though it isn't currently planned for India or right-hand-drive markets, demonstrates the advantages of their partnership by making electrified SUVs available to consumers who might not otherwise be able to create such vehicles on their own.
