When the Ioniq 6 was launched in June 2022, it caught a lot of eyes as it had a combination and match of several other cars. It had a front look inspired by the Porsche Taycan EV. Side-wise, it resembled a lot like Merc's CLA Class with its coupe roofline sloping. From the back, the Ioniq 6 carries the Porsche 911's legendary Ducktail spoiler, too.
With the new Ioniq 6, Hyundai has inherited the side profile and silhouette of the predecessor. However, the front and rear have been significantly revised to impart a more sleeker and contemporary look with ample aggressiveness. With these design adjustments, Hyundai has revamped the appearance of this car.
Front fascia has seen the most change. Bonnet creases became much sharper and protruded much more than they used to. Headlight is now split in design where horizontal DRL strip is on top and actual headlight is below within the bumper. N Line versions receive sportier bumpers at both ends. Rear profile has dropped the double Ducktail spoiler for a simpler one.
Sporty N Version
Only the new Ioniq 6 N will receive dual spoilers where the top unit is even more aggressive compared to its predecessor. Alloy wheel styles are new, where N Line and N trim receive much more sporting styles. All trims of the New Ioniq 6 receive an LED-connected tail light signature with Pixel effect styling.
Inside, Hyundai has tweaked a bit which can be witnessed with a fresh steering wheel, updated USB Type-C ports and a bit more. Powertrain specifications are yet to be shared and will likely feature slightly larger battery packs compared to before. The most interesting aspect of this refresh is Ioniq 6 N, which is likely to come equipped with the Ioniq 5 N's 800V powertrain with about 640 bhp of peak power from its dual motor configuration.
Conclusion
The new Hyundai Ioniq 6 introduces a more aggressive and sleeker design, evolving the looks of its predecessor while keeping its signature coupe-like profile. With more angular bonnet creases, a new front fascia, and revised rear styling, the new Ioniq 6 now has a more modern look. The N Line and N models add sportiness with more aggressive bumpers, new alloy wheels, and an LED pixel-effect taillight pattern.
Within, Hyundai has introduced subtle revisions, such as a new steering wheel and updated connectivity options. Powertrain specifications are still not revealed, but the expected Ioniq 6 N should come with the high-performance 800V setup of the Ioniq 5 N, which will generate about 640 bhp.
With these upgrades, Hyundai is doubling down on sustainable mobility while taking the Ioniq 6's styling and performance to new levels.
