Hyundai Creta Sales Dominate in March 2025

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has revealed that the Hyundai Creta was India's best-selling car in March 2025, with 18,059 units sold. The achievement is a reflection of the SUV's strong demand from customers and reflects Hyundai's continued leadership in the segment. Creta's steady performance in the market has helped Hyundai's overall growth.

Hyundai Creta continued its grip on the SUV space, leading the sales in the January–March 2025 quarter with 52,898 units. It also continued to be among the top three highest-selling passenger cars in India in FY 2024-25, with the highest-ever one-year sales of 1,94,871 units. It is a tremendous 20% jump in sales on a year-on-year basis and the highest-ever sales of the Creta since its launch.

In 2025, the Hyundai Creta will celebrate a decade since launch. Since its initial launch in 2015, the Creta has been a massive success, and more than 1.2 million units have been sold.

Words by COO of Hyundai Motors

Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said regarding the milestone and added, "The Hyundai CRETA continues to set new benchmarks in India's auto industry. Its consistent brand leadership in the SUV segment and now as the best-selling model in March 2025 is a reflection of the strong emotional connect it has with Indian customers. With over 1.2 million CRETAs on Indian roads and a decade of trust, Hyundai CRETA has become a "Symbol of Innovation, Aspiration, and Reliability."

Led by Hyundai CRETA, the proportion of SUVs in HMIL's overall sales rose to 68.5% in FY2024-25 from 63.2% last year. The launch of CRETA Electric has further broadened the brand's appeal, opening up a more sustainable future. We continue to work towards delivering cars that delight and inspire our customers."

Sales in FY 2024-2025

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) recorded total sales of 7,62,052 units in FY 2024-25, comprising 5,98,666 units sold domestically and 1,63,386 units exported. In March 2025, the company noted total sales of 67,320 units, comprising 51,820 units sold in India and 15,500 units shipped internationally. This indicates a growth of 2.6% in comparison to the same timeframe last year, underscoring Hyundai’s consistent expansion in domestic and global markets.

Conclusion

Hyundai Creta's success as India's top-selling vehicle in March 2025 testifies to its lasting popularity and solid market performance. With historic sales records, the Creta continues to establish itself as a market leader in the SUV market, demonstrating Hyundai's dedication to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction. As the model approaches its 10th anniversary, the introduction of the Creta Electric further strengthens its legacy, paving the way for a more sustainable future. Hyundai’s overall growth in both domestic and international markets reaffirms its position as a key player in the automotive industry.
