MG’s Advanced Hybrid: Design
The MG3, which was built from the ground up, is wider and longer than the model it replaces, giving passengers more room inside and the biggest boot space in the hybrid B-segment class.
Customers can select from a variety of styling features, such as alloy wheels, LED headlights, and a new color scheme, on the all-new MG3, which was designed by MG's Shanghai studio.
European customers can choose from seven different paint schemes: Pebble Black, Dover White, Cosmic Silver, Pastel Yellow, Diamond Red, Hampstead Grey, and Como Blue.
MG’s Advanced Hybrid: Powertrain
The all-new MG3 is the first MG model to be equipped with MG's Hybrid+ powertrain technology, which is a conventional, non-plug-in hybrid system. The new Hybrid+ system consists of the following five essential components: an electric motor, generator, battery,
The MG3 Hybrid+ generates 143kW total power and achieves economy ratings of 4.4l/100km and 100g/km CO2*. This is made possible by a 1.83kWh battery, which greatly increases efficiency by enabling a long driving range on electricity alone.
The new MG3 boasts a 1.5-liter petrol engine with 75kW and an electric motor with 100kW. Additionally, it has a separate generator motor that allows for multiple powertrain operating modes. This offers class-leading hybrid B-segment hatchback performance numbers and flexible operation regardless of the driving conditions.
With a 41% thermal efficiency, the 1.5-liter Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with four cylinders generates 75kW (102 PS) of power. A wide range of power is provided throughout the rev range by the Hybrid+ system when paired with the 100kW (136 PS) electric motor.
MG’s Advanced Hybrid: Specifications
In addition to its powerful hybrid drivetrain, the MG3 Hybrid Hatch has several driving modes that are customized to suit individual preferences and driving circumstances. This adaptability makes driving more enjoyable by enabling a customized trip. In addition, the hybrid battery has twice the capacity of the Aqua battery, which could provide advantages in terms of power and range. But there might be drawbacks as well like added weight and perhaps altered dynamics of the car. Notwithstanding these factors, the MG3 Hybrid Hatch is still a highly anticipated model that will join the compact hatchback market and is expected to provide a combination of affordability, efficiency, and performance.
Highlights of the rest of the equipment include four USB ports, a six-speaker audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, air conditioning, rear parking sensors, and a camera. Elevated trim levels come equipped with a 360-degree camera, heated front seats and steering wheel, keyless entry, and leather-like upholstery.
What’s the goal?
The launch of automobiles such as the MG3 Hybrid Hatch is a step towards a more accessible and sustainable mobility future as the automotive industry continues to change. With its unique combination of efficiency, affordability, and cutting-edge technology, the MG3 Hybrid Hatch is not only a vehicle to watch but also a model that has the potential to pave the way for improving urban transportation.
