With immediate effect, the Maruti Suzuki XL6 will see a price rise of ₹12,500 for its MPV. The new prices for this model now vary ₹11.83-₹14.99 Lakh (ex-showroom) across all variants. The news on the price increase would impact the already competitive MPV segment just ahead of the much-discussed launch of the 2025 Kia Carens, expected to take place early next month in India.
Price Hike Associated with Variants
The price increase of ₹12,500 is applicable on all three variants- Zeta, Alpha, and Alpha+ of XL6. Positioning itself as the premium offering from Maruti, the XL6 is sold across Nexa dealerships, which provide a more upscale buying experience than the traditional Maruti showrooms. With the recent price update, the XL6 can now be termed as a contemporary premium MPV, marginally on the higher end; however, it continues to offer decent value considering its loaded features and looks.
Engine and Transmission Options
The Maruti XL6 is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, very much balanced for nearly all city and highway driving scenarios. For this engine, two transmission configurations are offered: a five-speed manual and a six-speed torque-converter automatic. That provides the buyer an opportunity to either enjoy the driving mood or simply lounge into the world of convenience offered by an automatic gearbox. With another Jaw-Ke-Dent stare, the present engine setup could assure good average mileage with good performance even after raising the prices.
Upcoming Changes in April 2025
Additionally, as announced, another round of price revisions is expected to happen in April 2025. This timing could be well linked with all shifting circumstances concerning competitors, particularly with the launch of the 2025 Kia Carens, which could, in some sense, change the game in the MPV field.
One move that could possibly ensure that the XL6 continues to be relevant for buyers in their consideration of SUVs in this segment is the increase in pricing of the XL6, probably hinting at its price manipulation to stave off market attention and any possible threat from the new Carens.
Features and Premium Appeal
The Maruti XL6, with its advanced features such as a big touchscreen infotainment system, premium upholstery, and several advanced safety features, remains a strong contender in the already buoyant premium MPV market, creating an all-encompassing and comfortable experience for both driver and passengers. Availability of the XL6 at the Nexa outlets adds a little more to its premium charm to attract customers looking for a more refined and personalized buying experience.
Impact of the 2025 Kia Carens Launch
The upcoming launch of the 2025 Kia Carens will be a strong catalyst for competition in the Indian MPV segment. Kia has created a name for itself through models like the Carens, giving a good combination of value-for-money proposition, trendy features, and good looks.
