The 2026 Renault Kwid facelift is set to debut on July 3, featuring Dacia Spring-inspired exterior styling with new Y-shaped LED DRLs and tail-lamps.
The updated cabin is expected to house a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a new steering wheel, and potentially six airbags.
The Renault Kwid has long served as the French brand's most accessible offering in India, and it is now in line for a meaningful update.
Renault will debut the Kwid facelift on July 3, 2026. While the carmaker is yet to officially reveal the full details, there is already a fair amount of anticipation building around what the refreshed model will bring to the table.
Exterior Styling Draws From Dacia Spring's Design Language
Y-Shaped LED Lighting Elements Expected Front and Rear
Previous spy shots have hinted that the Kwid facelift could adopt a Dacia Spring-like exterior design alongside a revamped interior.
The 2026 Renault Kwid facelift is expected to receive a comprehensive styling update, with the hatchback likely to feature new Y-shaped LED daytime running lamps and matching Y-shaped tail-lamps.
The headlights, however, are expected to continue with halogen units. The front and rear bumpers are also expected to be redesigned, and Renault is likely to offer a new set of alloy wheels with the updated model.
Interior Gets a More Contemporary Treatment
Larger Touchscreen and New Steering Wheel on the Cards
Step inside and the changes are expected to be just as notable. The Kwid facelift is expected to get a refreshed dashboard with a larger infotainment touchscreen, likely measuring around 10 inches. A new steering wheel and a redesigned instrument cluster are also likely additions.
On the safety front, Renault could also upgrade the safety package by offering six airbags. The updated cabin design is likely to draw inspiration from the Dacia Spring, and these changes are expected to make the Kwid feel more contemporary without significantly altering its overall layout.
Powertrain Expected to Carry Over Unchanged
Same 1.0-Litre Engine With Manual and AMT Options
Mechanically, buyers should not expect any major changes under the bonnet. The facelifted Renault Kwid is likely to continue with the same 68hp, 1.0-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine.
Transmission options, including a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT, are also expected to be carried over. This suggests Renault's focus with this update is firmly on keeping the Kwid looking and feeling relevant rather than altering its tried-and-tested mechanical package.
Pricing Expected to See a Marginal Rise
The facelifted Kwid is expected to carry a slight premium over the current model, which is priced from Rs 4.30 lakh to Rs 5.88 lakh (ex-showroom). Given the extent of the visual and interior changes on offer, a modest price adjustment would not come as a surprise. All eyes are now on July 3, 2026, when Renault is expected to settle all speculation and formally introduce the updated Kwid to the Indian market.
