Honda's upcoming 0 Alpha electric has been spotted testing on public roads in Manali, marking one of its first sightings in India. The latest prototype provides a closer look at the vehicle's production-ready interior while confirming several design elements previewed by Honda earlier.
The model forms part of Honda's all-new 0 Series electric vehicle family and is expected to play a key role in the company's global electrification strategy. Designed as a premium electric sedan, it will combine futuristic styling, advanced digital technology and long-range electric performance.
Technology-Focused Minimalist Cabin
The latest spy shots offer the clearest look yet at the interior, revealing a modern and technology-focused cabin. The biggest highlight is a massive freestanding landscape touchscreen infotainment system, giving the cabin a clean and futuristic appearance.
Behind the newly designed multifunction steering wheel sits a fully digital instrument cluster, giving the cabin a clean and futuristic look. Following Honda's new 0 Series design philosophy, the dashboard adopts a minimalist layout with fewer physical buttons.
The infotainment system is expected to support wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, connected car technology, built-in navigation, and dedicated EV functions, offering a more advanced digital experience for drivers.
Honda 0 Alpha Design Highlight
Although the test vehicle remained partially camouflaged, several key design elements are clearly visible. The sleek silhouette, low-slung stance and aerodynamic proportions closely resemble the concept showcased by Honda earlier.
Other noticeable styling highlights include flush door handles, slim LED lighting signatures, a coupe-like roofline and large alloy wheels. The overall design focuses heavily on aerodynamic efficiency while delivering a distinctive road presence.
Expected Powertrain and Platform
The new EV is based on Honda's dedicated 0 Series electric vehicle architecture, developed specifically for the brand's next generation of battery-powered models.
While Honda has not revealed complete technical specifications, the production model is expected to offer multiple battery options along with both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations in global markets. The platform has also been engineered to support fast charging, advanced software integration and improved driving dynamics.
Launch Timeline and India Plans
Honda is expected to launch this premium electric SUV in 2027, with local production planned in India. Manufacturing the model domestically will not only cater to Indian buyers but also support exports to selected international markets.
Once launched, it is expected to compete with upcoming electric SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Sierra EV, and other premium mid-size EVs.
The upcoming EV also highlights Honda's growing focus on the Indian market as the company expands its global electric mobility strategy.
