Ducati expands the Monster range in India with the launch of the all-new Monster SP.
The Ducati Monster SP has been launched in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 15.95 lakh. The Ducati Monster SP is powered by the 937cc Testastretta 11°, liquid-cooled 4-valve twin-cylinder engine that makes a good 111 bhp at 9,250 rpm and 93 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a quick-shifter, and the motorcycle tips the scales at 186 kg and features a lightened GFRP subframe and an aluminium swingarm.
The new Ducati Monster SP also features golden anodising on the Ohlins NIX30 fork and the presence of a Termignoni-approved silencer as standard. Another noteworthy mentions are the red saddle, which is integrated with the tail in the side view. The Monster SP logo on the passenger seat cover and the Ducati logo on the fuel tank is large and inspired by the Panigale V4 graphics.
It is equipped with the fully adjustable Ohlins suspension and is 0.6 kg lighter than the one used on the Monster. Brembo Stylema Calipers and aluminium flanges do braking duties for the 320 mm front brake discs (0.5 kg lighter than the Monster equipment). The bike has shaved about 2 kg, courtesy of that goes to the adoption of a lithium-ion battery. The bike comes shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres on both wheels. The motorcycle also features advanced rider assistance tech like a cornering anti-lock braking system (ABS) with 3-level adjustments, 8-level adjustments for traction control, 4-level adjustments for wheelie control, and 3-level adjustments for launch control.
Riding modes now include a new Wet mode and Sport and Road. The standard equipment includes ABS Cornering, traction control and wheelie control, and launch control. Everything is managed through the handlebar controls and the 4.3-inch colour TFT dashboard, featuring racing graphics borrowed from the Panigale V4.
