In Brazil, Volkswagen debuted the Virtus convertible, which was specially developed. The unique prototype was on display at the Volkswagen plant in Sao Bernardo do Campo (SP) during a visit by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
What makes it unique?
According to Volkswagen Brazil, the Virtus Cabriolet is more than just a modified sedan with a chop top. The car's structure was reinforced at strategic locations and new suspension parts were added in addition to the roof removal. Because of the removed roof, the doors have also been slightly realigned and are pillarless.
To further improve stability, a second strengthening rod joins the left and right B-pillars. The rear seats and fuel tank have been adjusted as a result of the car's floor being slightly extended to provide more legroom. The Biscay Blue-painted Virtus convertible has an all-black interior and 18-inch darkened wheels and It is powered by a 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine.
