The Toyota Kirloskar Motor sold a total of 26,453 units in June of 2025, which was a slight increase of 2.72 percent in year-to-year (YoY) growth measured against 25,752 units in June 2024.
But its month-on-month (MoM) drop of 9.66 over May 2025 of 29,280 units indicates an immediate halt in sales.
Hyryder and Hycross Shine
The Urban Cruiser Hyryder topped the list in June and recorded sales of 7,462. The SUV achieved a YoY growth of a whopping 74.55 percent, stamping its name as the most popular Toyota offering. Its MoM drop of 1.47 percent shows that demand is stable.
The Innova Hycross was next with 5,746 units, which increased its traction YoY by 17.46% and MoM, 9.59% within the MPV segment.
Crysta, Glanza and Taisor see drops
On a YoY basis, the Innova Crysta tumbled, recording 3,056 units, a negative change of 32.39 per cent and 16.02 per cent MoM. The Glanza too slumped at a huge 28.65 per cent YoY and 38.19 per cent MoM to 2,938 units, most probably caused by the growing competition in this hatchback segment.
Taisor, a new unit with 2,408 units, reported a YoY and MoM decrease of 24.40 and 20.66, respectively, showing that further marketing promotion should be carried out after the launch.
Premium and Utility Segment Update
Perhaps, the biggest unexpected winner was the Hilux pickup which sold 349 units, an increase of 47.88 per cent YoY and 8.39 per cent MoM. High-end nameplates such as the Camry and the Vellfire performed well.
The Camry recorded a sales base of 180 units with an increase of 25.87 percent year to year, and Vellfire improved by an increment of 437.93 percent month on month to place 156 units.
Fortuner maintained its 2,743 units, 2.54 percent YoY and 6.69 percent MoM to keep its image as one of the full-size SUV standards.
Toyota Q2 2025: SUVs and EVs Form The Basis of Growth
At Toyota, Q2 CY2025 is at 80,566 units, which is a good YoY increase of 17 percent over the previous year in Q2 CY2024 of 68,411 units. Hyryder and Hycross provided major portions, and the former sold 19,677 alone. The Taisor increased the quarter by 7,864 units, although it made some dips recently.
Even though the healthy growth in Hilux, Camry, and Fortuner contributed to the uptrend, the negative growth of Crysta, Glanza, and Vellfire tempered the growth a little.
The performance of Toyota in June and Q2 2025 highlights the popularity of hybrids and SUVs among consumers, but some types of its products can still require strategic redesign or rebranding to recapture the lost leading position.
