The Land Rover India has also added to its premium SUV range by launching the Range Rover Velar Autobiography at a price that starts at 89.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
The new variant occupies the highest spot in the Velar and comes with numerous luxury-driven features and advances in technology, and the option between petrol and diesel powertrains.
Autobiography Trim: What is New?
The Autobiography costs an extra 5 lakh over the Dynamic variant and the price hike is justified by massive improvements over the lesser trim.
The most impressive features are:
Sliding Panoramic Roof
Full Extended Windsor Leather seat covering
Suedecloth headliner
The Surround Sound System Meridian 3D
All these enhancements are meant to transform the in-cabin experience, making the Velar Autobiography a so-called sanctuary on wheels, according to Ryan Miller, Global Product and Services Director of Range Rover.
Option of Engine: Petrol and Diesel
There are two engine options in the Velar Autobiography:
P250 Petrol: 2.0L turbo engine making 247 bhp with 365Nm torque
D200 Diesel (Mild-hybrid): 2.0L which outputs 201bhp and 430Nm torque
Both engines come with an eight-speed automatic along with the trademark AWD system of Range Rover and several drive and terrain options to accommodate a broad variety of resolving conditions on the road.
A Statement of Modern Luxury
The Velar was never excessive in its design and driving factor: it was a balance of class and aggressive performance. It also comes with the Autobiography badge, which adds another notch of luxury.
The new variant has the attention to detail that we see in the lush leather seats, the surround sound and the panoramic windows of the Range Rover, and its intention is to match technologies, comfort and power.
The Velar Autobiography will help the Land Rover sell cars in India where it is increasing its market share in the luxury SUV segment as it targets customers seeking style, substance and high levels of craftsmanship.
