Tata Curvv Coupe Suv Officially Teased Ahead Of Debut

Tata Curvv Coupe SUV Officially Teased Ahead of Debut

Tata Curvv has been in the buzz ever since it officially debuted as a concept in July 2022 and its subsequent appearance at the 2023 Auto Expo. Over the past eighteen months, the Curvv has been spotted several times. Reportedly launch is around the corner. Recently, Tata Motors teased the Curvv on its social media platforms, further fueling excitement. Similar to its siblings, the Punch and Nexon, the Curvv will be available in both combustion and fully electric versions. Read more in detail about what the teaser had for us:

Eye-catching Exterior Design

The design of the Tata Curvv follows the brand’s new design philosophy, similar to the recent SUV launches like the Harrier, Safari, Nexon, and Punch. ev. The front of the Curvv features a sleek LED strip on top, accompanied by dual-projector LED headlamps housed in triangular clusters at the bottom. The rear is expected to mirror this design with a connected LED stripe.

The latest teaser partially reveals the coupe-like side profile of the Curvv, which is its most distinctive feature. The sharp, receding roofline stands out, adding to the vehicle’s sporty and dynamic look. The teaser also offers a glimpse of the crossover’s body panels. Additional exterior highlights include a wide track, shark fin antenna, muscular wheel arches, and a prominent boot lid spoiler.

Modern and Minimalist Interiors

Inside, the Tata Curvv is expected to boast a minimalist layout, reducing the number of physical buttons on the dashboard and console. Instead, more controls will be integrated via touch panels. Key features include a floating touchscreen infotainment display, a fully digital instrument console, Tata’s new two-spoke steering wheel with a touch panel, and touch-based HVAC controls.

Other notable interior features likely to be included are powered ORVMs (Outside Rear-View Mirrors), ventilated front seats, auto-dimming IRVM (Inside Rear-View Mirror), a 360-degree surround camera, a JBL sound system with a subwoofer, push-button start, and wireless smartphone charging. Previous spy images have confirmed that the Curvv will also come with a panoramic sunroof. In terms of safety, the Curvv is expected to benefit from a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).

Diverse Powertrain Options

The Tata Curvv will be available in both electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) variants. The electric version is expected to offer both single- and dual-motor setups, with the single motor providing a front-wheel-drive layout and the dual motor offering an all-wheel-drive configuration. The expected range for the electric version is between 400-500 km on a single charge.

For the ICE variant, the Curvv will likely use the same 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-liter diesel engine as the Nexon, but with higher performance. The transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automated manual transmission (AMT), with the possibility of a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) being available.

Pricing and Competitors

Upon its launch, the ICE version of the Tata Curvv will compete directly with the Citroen Basalt, another upcoming coupe SUV. It will also face competition from established rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Skoda Kushaq. In its fully electric form, the Curvv will compete against the Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Suzuki eVX, both of which are currently in development.

In Conclusion, The Tata Curvv promises to be a significant addition to Tata Motors’ lineup, offering a blend of innovative design, modern features, and versatile powertrain options. Its coupe-like styling and advanced features set it apart from its competitors, making it a highly anticipated vehicle in both the ICE and electric SUV markets. As Tata Motors continues to tease the Curvv, the excitement and expectations around its official debut only continue to grow.
