- Three carmakers have updated pricing across popular models this month
- Changes vary by fuel type, with one variant even getting cheaper
Price revisions are a routine part of the automotive calendar in India, and this week has brought a fresh round of them. Tata Motors, Citroen and Kia have all updated pricing across some of their most popular models, and the changes span hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs alike. Here is a full breakdown of what has changed and by how much.
Tata Altroz Now Costs More Across The Board
The Tata Altroz, one of the more popular affordable hatchbacks on sale, has received a price hike of up to Rs 13,000. The car is sold with petrol, diesel and CNG powertrains, and each has been treated slightly differently.
On the petrol side, the base Smart+ trim holds steady at Rs 6.29 lakh. The Pure variant, in both manual and automatic guises, is now dearer by Rs 5,000, while every other petrol trim has gone up by a flat Rs 3,000. That puts the petrol lineup between Rs 6.29 lakh and Rs 10.69 lakh.
Diesel buyers have three trims to pick from, all paired with a manual gearbox. The entry-level Pure trim is up by Rs 10,000, while the Creative S and Accomplished S trims have each risen by Rs 8,000, taking the diesel range to Rs 8.25 lakh to Rs 10.35 lakh.
The CNG line has seen the widest spread of changes. The base Smart trim is untouched at Rs 7.29 lakh, the Pure variant rises by Rs 5,000, and the Pure S, Creative and Accomplished trims (both manual and automatic) go up by Rs 3,000. The Creative S trim absorbs the steepest increase of the lot, at Rs 13,000, pushing the CNG range to Rs 7.29 lakh to Rs 10.79 lakh.
Citroen Adjusts C3 X, With One Variant Getting Cheaper
Citroen India has revised prices across its range, touching the Basalt X, Aircross X and the C3 X hatchback. The C3 X changes are the most varied of the three brands covered here, since they include both increases and a rare decrease.
The Feel CNG manual variant has actually become cheaper, dropping by as much as Rs 31,000. At the other end, the Live (O) petrol manual trim has gone up by Rs 6,000. A cluster of mid and higher trims, namely the Feel (O) petrol, Feel (O) CNG, Shine petrol, Shine CNG, and both turbo-petrol Shine variants with manual and automatic transmissions, now cost Rs 8,000 more than before. Every other variant in the lineup is unchanged.
With these adjustments in place, the C3 X range now spans Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 9.68 lakh, ex-showroom. Buyers can choose between petrol, turbo-petrol and CNG powertrains, matched to five-speed manual, six-speed manual or six-speed torque converter automatic gearboxes, across the Live, Live (O), Feel, Feel (O) and Shine trims.
Kia Seltos Sees The Steepest Hike Of The Three
Of the three models covered here, the Kia Seltos has taken the largest hit, with prices rising by up to Rs 32,500. The mid-size SUV is offered with petrol and diesel engines, and both have gone up, though not uniformly.
On the petrol side, the entry-level HTE trim is unchanged at Rs 10.99 lakh. The HTE (O), HTK, HTK (O), HTX and GTX trims (across CVT and DCT options), along with the X-Line CVT, have all gone up by a flat Rs 30,500. The range-topping GTX and X-Line variants in their O and dual-tone forms remain at their earlier prices of Rs 19.41 lakh to Rs 21.56 lakh. Altogether, the petrol range now runs from Rs 12.42 lakh to Rs 19.82 lakh.
Diesel variants have gone up by a uniform Rs 32,500 across most trims, including the base HTE. The GTX (TC) and X-Line (TC) trims have risen by a smaller Rs 18,500, while the GTX dual-tone (TC) trim holds firm at Rs 20.21 lakh. This leaves the diesel lineup priced between Rs 12.94 lakh and Rs 20.21 lakh.

What This Means For Buyers
None of these revisions are dramatic on their own, but taken together they reflect a fairly typical mid-year adjustment cycle that Indian carmakers tend to follow. Anyone eyeing the Altroz, C3 X or Seltos would do well to check the updated ex-showroom figures for their specific variant and city before finalising a purchase, since on-road pricing will also factor in local taxes and registration costs.
