Kia Corporation reported 3,135,803 vehicles sold worldwide in 2025, which was a 2% increase over 2024 and its greatest yearly total to date. Early in January, the corporation revealed this success from Seoul as it kept growing its footprint in important areas.
The majority of this rise came from sales outside of South Korea, with almost 2.58 million automobiles sold abroad, while domestic sales in Korea added over 545,000 units. There were slight year-over-year increases in both geographical categories, which suggests that demand is consistent among markets.
SUVs Take the Lead
In 2025, sport utility vehicles continued to be crucial to Kia's business. With 569,688 units sold worldwide, the Sportage was the brand's best-selling model, followed by the Seltos (299,766 units) and the Sorento (264,673 units). SUVs' widespread appeal highlights consumers' desire for adaptable, affordable cars across a range of geographies.
Kia expanded its product line and appeal by introducing new models like the EV3 electric car, the K4 sedan, and a hybrid version of the Carnival people-mover, in addition to conventional SUVs.
Looking Ahead, Goals for 2026
Kia has set a global sales target of 3.35 million units for 2026, hoping for continued development in both home and international markets, thanks to record performance. The company intends to boost sales of special-purpose vehicles and sell about 2.78 million vehicles outside of Korea, with 565,000 anticipated in the local market.
In order to satisfy changing consumer and regulatory needs, Kia is concentrating on increasing the range of hybrid and electric vehicles it offers, especially in SUVs like the Seltos and Telluride, while also bolstering production capacity and supply chain resilience.
Milestones to Momentum
There's more to Kia's record 2025 performance than meets the eye. It positions the business for sustained success in a constantly evolving automotive marketplace by indicating a strategic change towards electrification, richer model lineups, and worldwide market adaptation.
