In crash tests, the Petrol Harrier and Safari receive five-star Bharat NCAP ratings.
Explanations of engine specifications, safety ratings, and new models.
In the Bharat NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) crash tests, Tata Motors' petrol versions of the Harrier and Safari SUVs received a five-star rating, a significant testament to their excellent safety record. This grade, which was previously applied to the diesel versions of these SUVs, now also applies to the petrol counterparts, ensuring consumers that the new petrol models provide comparable levels of occupant protection.
The Significance of Five-Star Safety Scores
Both the gasoline-powered Harrier and Safari scored highly in important safety areas during the crash testing. For adult occupant protection, they received 30.08 out of 32 points, and for child occupant protection, they received 44.54 out of 49 points.
The structural integrity and safety features of both SUVs are highlighted by these scores, which result in the maximum possible star rating under the Bharat NCAP system.
Because the Bharat NCAP testing process evaluates how well cars protect passengers in frontal and side crashes, a five-star rating is a reliable predictor of actual safety. When evaluated in their diesel versions, the Harrier and Safari were previously ranked among the safest SUVs in the Indian market, thanks to this rating.
Updates Under the Hood
In addition to safety, Tata has added a new 1.5-liter Hyperion TGDi turbo-petrol engine to the Harrier and Safari petrol versions. Both a six-speed manual and a torque-converter automatic transmission are compatible with this powertrain, which generates healthy power and torque numbers appropriate for daily driving and highway use.
These gasoline versions will be available in the same trim levels as the diesel cars, in addition to special Ultra versions with distinctive equipment and design, such as the Fearless Ultra and Fearless Ultra Red Dark.
Why This Is Important
For consumers who place a high value on safety, obtaining a five-star Bharat NCAP rating is important because it indicates how well a car can shield its occupants from serious collisions.
Safety has grown in importance for buyers of new cars in India's expanding SUV industry, with ratings from independent crash-test programs assisting buyers in making well-informed decisions.
Tata Motors solidifies its reputation as a brand that prioritises performance and safety with the addition of the petrol Harrier and Safari to the list of top-rated cars in the Bharat NCAP program.
