No Cash For Traffic Challan No Problem Now Pay Fines Through Upi

No cash for traffic challan, no problem! Now pay fines through UPI

Gurugram DCP Virendra Vij said the move is in line with the digital payment preferences of Gurugram residents.

Your challan has been cancelled and you don't have the cash to pay? No problem, now you can pay your challan through UPI also. Gurugram Police has announced that settlement of traffic challan can now be done using Paytm, UPI or other online modes. From Thursday, this facility of UPI payment has been started through apps like Paytm. This initiative aims to promote transparency and convenience.

Gurugram DCP Virendra Vij said the move is in line with the digital payment preferences of Gurugram residents, according to TOI. This year, traffic violators in Gurugram have paid over Rs 31 crore while settling over 14 lakh challans.

To pay your Gurugram Police traffic challan through the Paytm app on your smartphone, you need to select the “Recharge and Bill Payment” section inside the app and scroll down to locate and select “Challan”.

According to the report, DCP Vij said that a new initiative was also launched earlier this year to enhance traffic regulation, which included the use of drones to monitor lane changes.

Gurugram Police has deployed drones equipped with state-of-the-art optical cameras on the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway, which are helping in issuing challans to those driving rashly. The police department has issued challans worth up to Rs 75 lakh in these areas. This campaign has been started to improve road safety. These drones actively patrol the expressways to identify and challan those driving recklessly.
