Bookings Begin Through MG Dealership/ MG Motor India Website
The start of MG Comet EV bookings has been announced by MG Motor India. Customers can now make a token reservation for the Comet EV for only Rs. 11,000 through the MG Motor India website or any MG Dealership. The "Track and Trace" function on the "MyMG" app offers a fully transparent experience from booking to delivery, and MG has also launched it as an industry first to guarantee that the delivery process is totally transparent. With this function, clients will be able to check the progress of their car reservations right from the comfort of their phones.
Mr Gaurav Gupta, Deputy Managing Director, MG Motor India. said, “MG Comet EV has been developed with the purpose to cater to the specific needs of Indian urban consumers. With MG’s industry-first Track and Trace feature, we aim to put an end to the never-ending tussle of our customers to know about the status of their car booking. Customers will be able to experience their own MG Comet very soon”.
Price of the MG Comet EV For the First 5000 Bookings
Starting at a very special introductory price of Rs 7.98 lakh for the Pace version and Rs 9.28 lakh and Rs. 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively, for the Play and Plush variants, the Comet EV will be sold. The first 5,000 reservations will be eligible for the promotion. Starting in May, the business will start delivering the Comet in phases. The Comet is said to have a 230-kilometer range.
Warranty and Maintenance
A 3-year/1 lakh km guarantee is also included with the MG Comet, and an 8-year/1.2 lakh km warranty is provided for the battery, which is certified IP67. Additionally, MG will offer three years of free maintenance and three years of roadside support as standard. It's all a part of the MG e-Shield service. MG also revealed that there are more than 80 warranty and servicing options starting at Rs 5,000.
Battery and Other Features
With a 17.3 kWh battery and a stated range of 230 km, the little electric vehicle can be fully charged in 5 to 7 hours. The interior of the vehicle has a luxury feel, is quite roomy, and comes equipped with linked car technology, including Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, as well as a 10.25-inch touchscreen and instrument panel.
A full-width LED light bar and a chrome strip linking the wing mirrors are added to the Comet's front end. The vertical glass for the backseat passengers on the Comet is another intriguing feature, and the backseat also receives a full-width light strip. The smallest wheel size currently offered on a vehicle sold on the market is the 12-inch wheels on this one. With an illuminated MG emblem on the flap, MG has hidden the Comet's charging port under the front light bar. The Comet comes in five colors and offers a variety of graphic packages divided into sticker styles and lighted packages.
Competitors of the MG Comet
The MG Comet is a two-door urban commuter that has a distinct market niche. However, the Comet competes with the Tata Tiago EV (Rs 8.69 lakh–Rs 12.04 lakh) and Citroen eC3 (Rs 11.50 lakh–Rs 12.04 lakh) as an entry-level hatchback.
