Maruti Celerio Vxi Cng Vs Tata Tiago Xm Cng A Detailed Comparison

Maruti Celerio VXi CNG vs Tata Tiago XM CNG: A Detailed Comparison

The Maruti Celerio and Tata Tiago have long been popular choices in the hatchback market, frequently appearing in monthly sales charts. Because of their low pricing and fuel economy, both models are even more tempting now that they have a CNG option. The Maruti Celerio VXi CNG and the Tata Tiago XM CNG specifications are contrasted in this article to assist you in selecting which vehicle would be a better fit for your needs.

Comparing Prices

The Tata Tiago XM CNG costs Rs 6.95 lakh (ex-showroom prices), whereas the Maruti Celerio VXi CNG is priced at Rs 6.74 lakh. The base Tiago XE CNG, which costs Rs 6.60 lakh, is likewise well-priced, despite the small price difference.
The entry-level XE variant of the Tata Tiago is Rs 14,000 less than the Maruti Celerio VXi CNG variant, which is the sole CNG variant in the Celerio range. There is another XM CNG variant of the Tiago which costs Rs 21,000 more than the Celerio CNG.

Each model includes a variety of features meant to deliver value for money, despite the minor price variations.

Dimensions

The Tata Tiago CNG is slightly larger than the Maruti Celerio CNG when it comes to size. The Tiago measures 2400 mm for the wheelbase, 1677 mm 1535 mm tall and 3765 mm long. On the other hand, the Celerio has dimensions of 3695 mm in length, 1655 mm in width 1555 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2435 mm. Your choice might be influenced by how importance you place on space and overall vehicle size due to these variations, in dimensions.

Performance and Powertrain

The Tata Tiago CNG is powered by a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine that delivers 73 PS and 95 Nm of torque while the Maruti Celerio CNG features a 1-liter three-cylinder engine producing 57 PS and 82 Nm of torque. Both cars come with a 5-speed transmission. The higher-end models of the Tiago also offer an automatic transmission option. In terms of fuel efficiency, the Maruti Celerio CNG outperforms the Tiago with a rating of 35.60 km/kg compared to Tiagos 26.49 km/kg. If you prioritize power the Tiago is your bet; however, if fuel efficiency is your concern then the Celerio would be the more suitable choice.

Exterior Features

The Tata Tiago XM CNG stands out with its LED turn signals, on the rearview mirrors (ORVMs) adding a touch of sophistication to its look. On the other hand, the Maruti Celerio VXi CNG catches the eye with body-colored door handles and ORVMs featuring chrome accents on the grille. While the Tiago sports full wheel covers on its wheels, unlike the Celerio both cars come equipped with 14-inch steel wheels and halogen headlights.

Interior Features

The Maruti Celerio VXi CNG features a luggage tray, magazine pockets, and a 60;40 split folding rear seat, for added practicality in its interior design. On the other hand, the Tata Tiago XM CNG offers a 3.5-inch display with Bluetooth connectivity and two speakers, which are missing in the Celerio. Both models come with day and night rear view mirrors (IRVMs) and cloth seats; however, the Celerio has integrated headrests, in the seats while the Tiagos headrests are adjustable.

Convenience and Comfort

Both cars come equipped with a power outlet (12V) and manual air conditioning, for comfort and convenience. The Celerio stands out from the Tiago XM CNG with all four power windows and a driver's window that can be adjusted with one touch. Unlike the Tiago XE CNG, the Celerio offers adjustable ORVMs in addition, to manually adjustable mirrors. Both models feature digital instrument clusters to display essential driving information.

Safety Features

Given that safety is of importance both hatchback models come equipped with electronic stability control (ESC) front airbags and ABS, with EBD. Families with children may prefer the Tata Tiago for its safety measures such as ISOFIX child seat mounts. In comparison, to the Celerio VXi CNG, the Tiago XM model stands out with parking sensors and a reverse parking display.

Boot Area

The Tata Tiago CNG boot space stands out as an advantage compared to the Maruti Celerio CNG. The Tiago's capacity, for storage is enhanced by its dual CNG tanks positioned beneath the boot floor allowing for space. In contrast, the single tank in the Celerio occupies a portion of the boot area limiting its practicality.

Ultimately your preferences will play a role in selecting between the Tata Tiago XM and the Maruti Celerio VXi as CNG cars. Despite its price tag, the Tata Tiago XM CNG presents a rounded choice with a more powerful engine, additional safety features, and a larger trunk capacity. On the other hand, the Maruti Celerio VXi CNG boasts fuel efficiency and a more functional interior layout. For buyers, Maruti's extensive post-purchase support network could also be a factor. While being more affordable the base model Tiago XE lacks amenities found in both the Celerio and higher-end Tiago variants making the Celerio VXi CNG a preferable option due, to its added conveniences.
