Mahindra Thar 2WD Variant Launched: Here's Everything You Need To Know Mahindra has finally launched the much-awaited 2WD variant of the Thar. The new variant will be the entry-level model in the Thar range and will come with the smaller 1.5 liter diesel engine. It will have a few minor tweaks, such as the absence of the 4x4 badge on the rear fender and an additional cubby hole in place of the 4x4 lever. The rest of the equipment list is expected to remain unchanged. Mahindra Thar 2WD: What's New? The Mahindra Thar 2WD will be available in two variants: LX and EX. The LX variant will come with standard features such as steel wheels, manual air conditioning, and a basic sound system. The Z4 automatic variant gets these features as standard. The update comes after the Scorpio-N received a full 5-star rating in a recent crash test. Global NCAP mandates electronic stability control as a compulsory safety feature across variants to secure a five-star rating, and all variants must be updated with these features within 5 months of the crash test.
