The much-anticipated Kia Syros, a premium sub-4m SUV, is now available on the dealership floors in India. It is not a doubt-popping feature, and it is exactly involved in the sub-four-meter compact SUV.
Scheduled to be unleashed on 1st February 2025 probably, says sources, it will sport modern-day stuff in the perspective of two engines-one that houses the rev-happy turbo-petrol engine, keeping speed enthusiasts in endless fun, while the lower-power-unit engine will hardly be strong enough to refuse passage without supplying room for an in-your-face hotter model! It can also be compared to any other modern-day Tata or Hyundai sub-four-meter compact SUV.
Where Is It Displayed?
The Syros on show from Kia, then, is an HTX variant with turbo petrol and a manual six-speed engine. Key features that are visible include:
Exterior: LED headlights, LED tail lights, turn indicators on ORVMs, and a ‘T-GDi’ badge, suggesting the turbo-petrol variant.
Interior: A dual-tone blue and grey-hued cabin completed with leatherette seat upholstery and ventilated seat buttons on the doors, while retractable rear sunshades are pretty handy.
Technology: Very useful is the 12.3-inch touchscreen with a driver display unit that triumphs. However, the trim misses a 5-inch screen for AC controls and wireless charging.
However, it misses some flagship features, such as 360-degree cameras and radar in one of the ADAS, along with higher variant variants. There are no more powertrain options in the Kia Syros than taking engines from the Kia Sonet. These options include:
Powertrain Options
The Kia Syros shares its engines with the Kia Sonet, offering:
1.5-litre Turbo-Petrol
Power: 120 PS
Torque: 172 Nm
Transmission: 6-speed MT / 7-speed DCT
1.5-litre Diesel
Power: 116 PS
Torque: 250 Nm
Transmission: 6-speed MT / 6-speed AT
Est. Price- Rivals End
The Kia Syros expects to challenge such models as the Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, and Mahindra XUV300 in the ₹9.70-16.50-lakhs on-road prices.
Besides, the other sub-four-meter SUV, as with all these others, is a premium product in this class compared to the Kia Sonet. However, it competes with compact SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, and Honda Elevate.
With its modern features, price competitiveness in the segment, and options for versatile engines, the Kia Syros is going to rock this segment.
Watch out for this promising SUV, as it is ready to drive on Indian roads next month!
