Not only were December 2024 and January 2025 intended to witness the launch of its new model Syros, but it has, in fact, received strong bookings for its petrol-fed drive, the very first powertrain that has been on board before an official announcement of pricing is set for the 1st of February, 2025. The model has a 10,000 width for bookings made, showing more than 60% for petrol, which is certainly a topic at this time.
Transmission Variants and Preferred Colors
The trend is also evident in the choice of transmission. In the case of manual transmission (MT) alleys, 60% of the total demand applies to petrol and diesel options, and only 40% applies to automatic transmission (AT) alleys. Of the colors chosen, Frost Blue has become the favorite, as the most popular color accumulator, while an impressive 20% of buyers chose it.
The growing preference is driven by the trend in the market where there has been a general shift to petrol with respect to all car facades. This is significant as a spark of curiosity may ignite the problem of a possible switch of balances upon the announcement of price details by Kia showing what would be the cost difference between automatic petrol and manual petrol in its range.
Production and Export Plans
In Anantapur, Kia has already started to assemble the Sorus model from January 17, 2025, manufacturing at its factory. After prioritizing the country's requirements, it will decide whether to make the sedan available to drive for transmission, i.e., left-hand drive (LHD) and right-hand drive markets (RHD). This is because Kia has been exporting all models made in the facility at the destination, and the little Sorus should be no exception.
It's likely that the global-market version of Sorus could come with a 1.5-litre size and 4-cylinder motor. Just like the Sonnet B segment, which was launched in the rest of the global markets, the engine size will be top of the list.
With good initial bookings and a positive response, mainly with the petrol avatar, the Seltos SUV model is likely to have a significant influence in India. Kia has plans to establish itself further into this segment by developing a product that is currently being planned specifically for Indian customers, even as prospective buyers wait for price and other specifications.
