What is SBI FASTag?

SBI FASTag is a 10x5 cm compact reloadable card that automatically deducts toll charges while driving through toll plazas. It is a quick, hassle-free, electronic toll payment system to facilitate cashless transactions and keep the toll plazas decongested.

How does SBI FASTag work?

SBI FASTags are linked to the customer's prepaid accounts/savings account. The rectangular tags contain a chip and antenna inside multiple layers of high-quality paper. After activation, the card is affixed to the vehicle's windscreen. The tag readers at the toll plazas use Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to process the information contained in the tag. When the vehicle drives through the dedicated FASTag lanes at the toll plaza, their linked bank accounts/wallets are automatically debited with the applicable toll charges.

What are the features/benefits of SBI FASTags?

Cashless payment

SBI FASTag eliminates the need to carry cash for toll charges. The payments are auto-debited from the linked prepaid accounts on the go. Also, the tags are interoperable. The same RFID tag is functional at multiple toll plazas. Currently, SBI FASTags work at 346 plus toll plazas across national highways in India. Under the NETC program, there are plans to add more toll plazas to the list.

Quick travel

Automatic deduction of toll charges helps you travel faster, thus saving on fuel and time. The commuters don't have to stop and wait in long queues at toll plazas.

Easy recharge

For the SBI FASTag customers, Park+ comes in handy for quick recharges. Their website and app allow for a straightforward two-click recharge process on the go.

SMS notifications

SBI FASTag users stay updated with the instant SMS notification facility of the bank. Bank customers get regular SMS alerts on their registered mobile number regarding toll transactions, low balances, recharges, etc.

Unlimited validity

SBI FASTag comes with unlimited validity and a 3-year guarantee. Afterward, if the card gets tampered with or torn, you can get it replaced at some additional cost.

How to buy SBI FASTag?

To apply for SBI FASTag:

  1. Call the SBI helpline (1800 11 0018) or check the bank's website for the list of Point-of-sale (POS)/agent locations at the toll plazas.
  2. Once you have located your nearest POS location, visit the same with the required documents. The vehicle for which you want the FASTag should also be at the POS location.
  3. Fill out the application form to create a FASTag account with SBI.
  4. SBI bank's POS representative will affix the FASTag on your vehicle's windscreen.
  5. You will receive an SMS notification on your registered mobile number with a username and password
  6. Use the given credentials to log in to SBI FASTag customer web portal.
  7. You can manage/access your FASTag-related account activity (such as transaction history, recharges, and balances) using this SBI online customer portal.

What are the documents required for SBI FASTag account application?

When you visit the bank's POS location, you need to carry the following documents (both scanned and original) for verification:

  1. A duly filled and signed SBI FASTag application form
  2. Passport-size photograph of the vehicle owner
  3. Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle
  4. A valid driving license for address and identity proof
  5. Know your customer (KYC) documents (as per the category of the SBI FASTag account).

SBI FASTag customers can open their accounts in two categories:


I. Full KYC Holders account:

These SBI FASTag customers are allowed a maximum limit of INR1 Lakh for their FASTag (prepaid) account. There is no monthly reload limit set for these accounts.

Documents required: Minimum KYC information (ID proof, Address Proof, RC copy, and your photograph.)

II.Limited KYC holder's account:

These SBI FASTag customers are allowed a maximum limit of INR 10,000 for their FASTag (Prepaid) account. Their monthly reload limit is also restricted to INR10,000.

Documents required: Full KYC information (ID proof, address proof, RC copy, and your photograph.)

What are the fees/charges for SBI FASTag?

Issuance charges of the SBI tag are INR100 only across all vehicle categories, including all applicable taxes. Other Charges are as mentioned in the table:

  1. Security amount is refundable at the time of closure of the RFID Tag account.
  2. Minimum Balance is the minimum recharge amount required at the time of RFID tag activation.

How to recharge SBI FASTag Using Park+?

Park+ offers you a quick way of recharging SBI FASTag in just two simple steps.

  1. Enter the registration number of your vehicle. Park+ will match the bank name i.e. SBI, with your vehicle's FASTag
  2. Enter the amount of recharge and click "Pay."

  1. Park + FASTag recharge is available on their app and website, making it very convenient for use on the go.
  2. FASTag bought through Park + can also be used at fuel pumps, society gates, corporate gates, and parking lots
  3. Park+ also enables cashless parking at select parking spots in the country.

How to activate SBI FASTag?

You need to submit your FASTag application form and the KYC and vehicle documents to enable activation. After verification of the documents, your FASTag will be automatically activated.


How to Login to the SBI FASTag account online?

SBI FASTag Customer Login:

Retail customers can access their SBI FASTag account online.

The FASTag customer account is created at the time of purchase of the tag. The user can sign in to his online account using the login ID and password sent to the registered mobile number of the vehicle owner. This digital account gives him access to all his FASTag-related transactions.

SBI FASTag Agent Login:

SBI FASTag agents or PoS representatives can also access their SBI agent portals online by logging in with their mobile number and password.


How to check SBI FASTag Balance?

For the registered SBI FASTag customers, there are five ways of preventing their tag account balance: Park+ app, SBI FASTag customer portal, SMS, mobile application, and Customer Care helpline

Check FASTag balance using Park+ app:

SBI FASTag customers can check their tag account balance the easiest way using the Park+ app

  1. Download the Park+ app and sign up to create your account
  2. Go to the "FASTag" tab and click on "FASTag recharge."
  3. Enter your vehicle number and proceed. You will be able to see your FASTag Balance on the top of the screen
  4. Click on it to get an overview of your SBI FASTag balance.

Check Balance using SBI FASTag customer portal:

  1. Visit the SBI FASTag website
  2. Login with your username and password.
  3. Choose the FASTag from the list (If you have multiple tags for your vehicles)
  4. View "FASTag balance". Check Balance using MyFASTag mobile app.

MyFASTag is the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)'s mobile application for FASTag users.

  1. Download the "My FASTag App" from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
  2. Enter your login information.
  3. View your FASTag account balance

Check FASTag balance using SMS:

All the registered SBI bank customers get notified through SMS on their registered mobile number regarding their FASTag transactions, including toll payments, recharges, and FASTag account balances.


Check FASTag Balance using Customer Care Helpline:

If your mobile number is registered with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) prepaid Balance, you can check FASTag Balance by giving a missed call to a toll-free number 91-8884333331

Alternately, you can call SBI customer care (1800110018) to know your account balance.


How to check FASTag Balance without logging into the SBI website?

If your NHAI prepaid wallet is linked to your registered mobile number, you can give a missed call to 91 88843 33331. You will receive an SMS with your FASTag account balance.

How to recharge SBI FASTag?

Your SBI FASTag recharge can be done quickly and simply with Park+ in these two steps:

STEP 1: Enter your vehicle registration number. Park+ will identify the FASTag bank associated with your vehicle, for example, SBI.

STEP 2: You can add the amount of your FASTag recharge and pay.

And you are done!

The recharge of your SBI FASTag can be done on both the Park+ app and the web.

Why does SBI FASTag get blacklisted?

Backlisted FASTags are banned from auto-deduction of toll charges. There are various reasons for SBI FASTag to get blacklisted:

  1. Low balance on the card
  2. Incomplete KYC details/documentation
  3. Accidental deactivation of the RFID tag

What to do if SBI FASTag gets blacklisted?

  1. In case of low balance, add money to your FASTag account
  2. In case of incomplete KYC, submit the required KYC documents
  3. In case of deactivation/suspension, go to your online FASTag account and select "Activate."

How to check SBI FASTag transaction history?

Login to SBI FASTag customer web portal with your login credentials to view your transaction history.

What to do if the SBI FASTag does not work at the toll plaza?

  • If the tag reader at the plaza is not working: You can pay the toll charges in cash and drive through the toll plaza.
  • If the tag is pasted incorrectly on the windscreen of the vehicle and is unreadable:
  • You can pay the toll charges in cash and drive through the toll plaza.
  • Or, request the toll plaza owner to read the tag using the handheld device Afterward, you can contact SBI customer care to inform them about the issue. They will connect with the Bank's POS representative to approach the customer and provide a resolution free of cost.

How to replace SBI FASTag?

  • If the tag is faulty and not being read at the toll plaza: You can call the SBI Customer care helpline. They will get it replaced by the SBI PROS representative at no additional cost.
  • If the tag is damaged: You can surrender the SBIFasTag by giving a written request. The bank will issue a new FasTag after charging the fees for the same.

What to do in case of a double deduction of toll charges on SBI FASTag?

The customer can contact the SBI toll-free number 1800110018. Customer care will raise the issue with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) system and resolve the matter.

No. Unfortunately, once the recharge is completed, no refund can be processed for the same.

Around 650 or more toll booths in India are not accepting FASTag issued by SBI.

To get a refund for your SBI FASTag, raise a dispute with the bank directly, and they will resolve it for you.

My SBI FASTag got damaged. What should I do?

It would be best if you approached the SBI to get your FASTag card replaced as soon as possible.

For how long is my SBI FASTag valid?

The validity of your FASTag SBI is until five years. You can recharge it online based on your usage.

What are the login credentials of my SBI FASTag?

The login credentials are shared with the vehicle owner once the FASTag is delivered. It usually comes with a welcome kit that contains all the information about the login of your SBI FASTag.

Payment has been deducted, but the balance has not been added to my SBI FASTag.

In all situations, the balance is reflected within 5 mins for your SBI FASTag. In case the added balance is not being shown for more than 1.5hrs, please reach out to the support team at support@myparkplus.com along with the below details:

Why is my SBI FASTag delisted?

If your SBI FASTag is low on balance, your FASTag might get delisted. To avoid this situation, you must repeatedly check your SBI FASTag balance and recharge if needed.

What should I do if my FASTag is lost or stolen?

If your FASTag is stolen or lost, call the SBI customer care number to block your FASTag card. The SBI FASTag balance will be transferred to the new FASTag issued to you.
