Our Park+ Highlight of the Day includes debut details on the upcoming Kia Seltos Facelift.
On July 4, Kia will unveil the Seltos facelift in India. Prices should be revealed before the end of the month. The SUV's first significant upgrade after going on sale in August 2019 is the Seltos facelift, which was revealed worldwide in June 2022. Numerous aesthetic improvements, additional technology inside, and a brand-new turbo-petrol engine are all part of the makeover.
For Kia, this updated model of the well-known SUV represents an important landmark because it is the first significant change since the Seltos made its debut in August 2019. The Seltos facelift is expected to revolutionize the market with its extensive array of aesthetic improvements, cutting-edge technology, and brand-new turbo-petrol engine.
A completely new headlamp assembly with reworked internals and LED daytime running lights, as well as a much wider and updated grille, will be included in the Seltos facelift. Additionally, the bumper has brand-new fog light housings, and an ADAS module is put on it.
In the GT Line model, it also receives a revised rear bumper with two aggressive exhaust points and a noticeable fake silver skid plate, however it is unclear whether these changes are practical or only cosmetic. The silhouette hasn't changed much, however depending on the model, the 17-inch alloy wheels have a new design.
The inside of the Seltos will receive the most significant makeover with a new twin-screen setup and digital instrument cluster. While the infotainment system and instrument cluster on the outgoing model shared a single binnacle, the former had a much deeper set and only featured a MID between the two analogue gauges. Along with revised HVAC controls, the Seltos facelift will also include somewhat thinner central AC vents underneath the infotainment system.
The installation of the panoramic sunroof, which has practically become standard in this sector, will be one of the main new features on the Seltos facelift. As was already known, it is also probably going to gain ADAS, making it the first Kia in India to have this safety suite. Six airbags will also come standard on the midsize SUV, along with other security measures like vehicle stability control and hill assist.
The 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 115 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque as well as the 1.5-liter diesel engine with 116 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque are anticipated to remain in the Seltos facelift. With the facelift, Kia is anticipated to restore the 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine, which is shared with the Carens, Hyundai Alcazar, and Verna and produces 160 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque. The available gearbox choices from the previous generation are probably still available.
The Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, and the future Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross will all be competitors of the Kia Seltos facelift when it is released. Expect a significant price increase as well given the abundance of new features and a whole new powerplant.
